For anyone who needs their daily dose of dryland! Spain has managed to host their Championship race this season. There’s no hope of that happening here, so fingers crossed for 21/22 for us. 🙏
I did a buying! Our first rally of the season this weekend, so hopefully I can get some good clips. Was a bitch to screw the handlebar clamp on, but it feels rock solid now it is on

First time bikejoring and we had a blast!
September 15, 2023, 2km
A sixth season behind these fluffy white butts (Slash was here too but god forbid I can convince Mr D to take photos of him working…)
Can one bikejor safely on hilly areas? I’d like to start bikejoring sometime in the future, but the problem is I’m unsure if it’s safe enough to do as I only see videos on flat terrain. Do you also happen to know of any good resources on learning to bikejor?
I've certainly seen some people do it on hilly terrain, but you do assume more risk to yourself and your dog doing this. I would personally only bikejor on hills and tight areas if you are an experienced mountain biker and your dog already has a strong grasp of commands and I would invest in a full coverage helmet (front face shield would be a must here).
Teaching bikejor is very similar to teaching the other mushing disciplines. The Facebook ground Dog Powered Sports 2.0 has a great learning and supplies resource list in their files. I enjoy THIS video from youtuber Spottin' the Spottens as well (it's around 40 minutes).
Some lead dog training this morning before work!
Slash did better this time, but still lacks some confidence especially when the other dogs are really far behind him (and they are most of the time bc running any string with Sigurd is not fast lmao).
Also turning around. They hated it.
