I’ve been wanting a binder for years, but my mother highly disagrees with the idea of binders, so instead I’ve been use the double sports bra method of binding.
She doesn’t want me to buy a binder because she doesn’t like the idea in general, and says that it’s like I’m “restricting and being scared of my body,” “doesn’t sound right,” and “many people have told me about how uncomfortable they are,” and has also asked me “what’s wrong with the method you use now.” I’ve tried to inform her as much as I can, and have told her multiple times that a binder is meant to make transboys feel comfortable with their bodies in the most safest method possible. But still, she keeps arguing against it and just suggests to buy me more sport bras to end the conversation. Any advice??? We’ve been debating about this topic for nearly two years...
