Illinois Wildlife, House Sparrow Facts of Interest: • Sparrows have an extra bone in their mouths that helps their tongue hold down seeds. • Sparrows like taking dust baths by scratching a hole in the ground and using their wings to throw dirt or sand over their bodies. ( May add to this later on )
