Hello Study Bugs! I'm back! I've been quite busing working and identifying thousands of inverts and making spreadsheets blah blah blah. Basic lab tech stuff. I can't believe I haven't gotten bored of it. :P You may or may not know, but tech jobs are generally temporary. They usually last a season and sometimes an extension is given depending on whether they like how you work and if they have the funds to pay you for a while longer. Currently my job is for 4-6 months, but may go into summer field work (crossing my fingers!!!!). I would love to do field work with this lab again. Eventually the time will come when I will have to move to my next job which could be anywhere in the world! Exciting and scary, huh?! Here are some of the cool and weird things I've seen under the microscope! The first I have no clue what it is as I wasn't required to ID it and I moved on. But can you see the little eyes on it? It looks adorable! The next is a picture of an aquatic mite (Hydrachnidia). These are a pain in the butt to ID down to family, let alone genus and species. 😭 but luckily I've ID'd the more common ones and that is good enough. Finally, look at my egg!!! It had two yolks in it! Maybe ya just me but the yolk is the BEST part of the egg. 😊 Just little things that brighten my already happy days~ I'll try to update more often... till next time!
