There was absolutely no way he could've known that the would run into the other, not like that. A fleeting memory to when he was grocery shopping earlier that day, catching the eyes of -- what was his name again? -- Kaidan, they’d spoken now and then, never more than pleasantries and eyes lingering a little longer than they ought to, once he’d touched his hand when they ran into each other at this little café. He could not deny he was charmed, and he was not used to someone just smiling, being nice when he knew there was interest. But he’d never been any good at picking the sweet ones on his own age. And then there was Kaidan, the first time he’d seen him it had been dark, his shape had made him think he was someone he could lure in for another one night stand -- but when he turned he was greeted by warm eyes and a wide smile.
But there was no time to linger at that smile, or the voice he’d heard, Honey in his ears, he could easily recall it -- and now the other was crouching down behind a crate, “Delta Oscar here, I’ve got the left side, over,” he said, and then he was across the floor, the uniform annoyingly blue, thought soon he was scooted up next to the solder. “Hello handsome, having a party without me? That’s not very neighbourly,” he said when he’d opened his helmet, resting his back against the same crate. @bioticus
