What happened or why isn't the Suren compound safe to get too?

The Suren compound is the safest place for the Droid-raised. Suren is located in the Morun Valley, and as such is not easily accessible. There are two ways into the valley; the main road and hiking over the mountains. The glacier covered mountains.

The problem with the road is that as Suren is technically not part of Kyarr, despite being located within the boundaries of the country. Suren is considered an independent City-State, and so the road has a checkpoint. Elena and Leo would not be able to get through.

The problem with the mountain route is pretty obvious I think. A 14-18 year-old and a 3-7 year-old are not able to do that independently.

You didn't ask but i'm telling you more about the compound:)

So basically, it is the last holding. All of the second gen, and most of the first gen who take care of them or are active with The Wires(so most of them) live there. Its a pretty big building, like can house around 40 people and everyone gets their own room, plus communal spaces, areas for planning, a courtyard, and a small detention center.

Around 25 Droid-raised live there full time, with most of the Secrets(excluding Arsaa, Triv, Jaz, Jax, and Anipr) and all of the Knowns, once they reach it.(well... except for Ian). Its a happy building full of life and love, and it's loud to say the least. it matters not at all that some of the people living there are in their 30s, they all behave like children(most of the time).

There is also a small school(think around 15 kids per grade, k-12), but that is on the outskirts of the compound and is not fully run by The Wires. Most of the kids there are from the surrounding city area, but somehow related to The Wires. It's not a traditional school, in that the classes are divided by ability not age, and people move around depending on the subject.

The entire city-state of Suren knows its there, who lives there, and what they do, but they would never reveal it to Kyarr. The Wires and the Droid-raised do so much for their city that its just an open secret.

Ok but Dark teaching me to slow dance. Or Damien, actually, either one. Like, I know the basic positioning and that's it, I have no idea how to actually move to the music. Letting me stare down at my feet the whole time, at first. Leading firmly and guiding me at every step, every movement. Then after several practice sessions, when I'm improving, tilting my chin up to look at him. "You're getting better, darling. You can do it without looking." Having to consistently remind me to look up. The small, endearing smile that crosses his face when I step on his feet accidentally. Until finally I have the muscle memory to move in sync with him, not colliding or stepping on him at all. I still find myself glancing down at my feet, because I have zero confidence, but every time he lightly touches my cheek and I look back into his eyes. Maybe I eventually learn multiple dances. Spins and dips. Much romantic, very sweet

Snowdin is quiet. The ground is littered with broken glass and abandoned weapons. Harsh winds throw plumes of dust into the air. A single neon sign flickers above the only bar and the door hangs off its hinges. The back of the bar is burned beyond repair, except for a small circle where a note is pinned to the counter with a knife:

“It’s empty. First time in years. No dogs howlin’ at the poker table. No one clinkin’ glasses. No lazy-ass skeleton snorin’ at the counter. Spent every day yellin’ at those shitheads to shut the hell up and now it’s finally silent.

I fucking hate it.

If you’re reading this, leave. There’s nothing left for you here.”

Upon further inspection, the blade is still hot and the note is singed. A pile of smoldering ash and a few golden rings are the only evidence of the being who wrote it. As bright as he burned, it seems that there isn’t much for a fire to do if there’s no one left to keep warm.
