I’m doing the #100dayproject for the first time this year. I recently started taking classes to improve my writing and to learn to illustrate. I eventually want to write children’s picture books. I have been so busy studying, practicing and doing homework that I have forgotten to play. Play is so important if you want to get in touch with your inner child and write for kids. So for my project, I’m going to make time for play using the techniques I’m learning to practice them, but also make them my own. I’m also going to combine them with another endeavor I’m undertaking which is to send everyone birthday postcards this year. My Mom passed away last year and before she died I was creating postcards for her and sending them at least once a week. I did it for almost 2 years and I miss having her to send them to, so I thought I’d keep going, but with birthday postcards.
