MAN ON THE MOON CHAPTER THIRTY TWO IS HERE!

I WILL get to the end of this fic. I know it's lengthy and a little clunky on the pacing, but it has been so incredibly rewarding to write, and I am so thankful for all of my commenters and interactions that kept this fic on my mind 24/7, even when I had major blocks.

So extreme apologies for cheating on Foxiyo with The High Republic (I got THR brain worms for real)!! I am dedicated to biweekly updates. I am aiming for Thursdays, but if I finish early I will post on Wednesdays, and please have grace if I am a little late.

December 2nd, 2022: After three and a half years of hard work, an AtLA community coming together, obstacles being overcome, we are here at last.

Life after AFO’s defeat was a fragile thing. Everyone who walked away from the carnage carried something heavy with them, civilians and heroes alike. War is always like that though; it uproots the foundations that the whole of society had built their lives upon and it reduces them to dust and tarnished memories of better times. As much as everyone wanted things to go back to normal, it simply wasn’t possible.

It took months of hard work before things finally started to improve for most people, but it was only after the first anniversary of the war ending that a new normal had been established. The destruction was cleared and new infrastructure was taking shape - carefully planned to preserve what little pieces remained after the near-total leveling of the entirety of Japan.

It was in that first year that the dominoes of Katsuki’s recovery had been precariously set. The first few months had been isolating - everyone was busy recovering or helping in the aftermath in one way or another, so seeing someone outside of his family was rare. When he was finally cleared from the hospital he was told to take things easy, but that left him with a lot of time on his hands and time to think. Initially this wasn’t an issue, he had a chance to process what he saw and digest what he’d learned when he woke up, but after about a week of that the doubt began to creep in and he quickly learned that finding something to do was the only way to keep it at bay. Between the flurry of hospital visits where his doctors would scold him for not being honest about his recovery progress and sneaking off to help the rebuilding efforts only to get berated by his mother for pushing himself too much, Katsuki began retreating into himself.

Currently in that stage of catching up with the manga where I keep having to reread the last ten chapters every week to make sure I keep everything straight

Genuinely considering rereading One Piece from the beginning yet again, which is what started this six month binge in the first place

May 7th, 2022 Hello customers! Here’s another update on our progress with retrieving our products:

🔥 Finance/Shipment Situation Recap: due to Miles’ life situation that caused their disappearance, we’ve enlisted Silvermoon and have transferred Stripe funds to her. We were in a limbo for quite some time, trying to figure out how to get back in contact with Miles to retrieve the items or reorder everything, when Miles’ partner got in contact with us, saying she can ship the items to us! We are now in process with helping her jot down all the items, specs, etc. of the packages she has and finding the right shipping service to send them all.

🔥 Current Status and Tentative Dates : Miles’ partner has given us the specs of each package of our zine products and more, thus now we are in discussion with her on her schedule for freight shipment and what service is best. Once we’ve gotten that down, we anticipate the items to be shipped to (if not also arrive at) Lee's place this month. Lee is very ready to start shipment once she receives the items, so we look forward to shipping the items to you in June!!

March 13th, 2022 Hello customers! Here’s another update with some new things that have come to light:

🔥 Finances: In our last post, we spoke about how we successfully transferred Stripe funds to Silvermoon, how it ended up being short of what we needed, and that we’ve been determining ways to both raise funds and also cut costs.

However, in February, something amazing happened: Miles’ partner actually reached out to us, offering to send all the original items! Getting the merchandise from Miles’ partner is not guaranteed, but if they do end up shipping the merchandise, it will save us a significant amount of money than if we would reorder. We’ve currently requested count of boxes and their weights, and possibly her sending out a small amount of items this month to get started. She’s very new to all of this, so we want to take it step by step to prevent from overwhelming her.

🔥 Production status: We have repurchased all the merch items in order to push production period forward! As there's a possibility due to international shipment of the decks (we used a China-based supplier), that the current supply of them are damaged and would be unable to be used for fulfilling orders, we're considering selling them and/or the small amount of items at an upcoming con to try and grab some extra funds for repurchasing the amount we might need. We’re also discussing various alternatives in order to prepare for whatever outcomes arrive.

🔥 Next Update: We plan to have another update within the next 3 weeks (so by April 3rd), where we'll hopefully have a more solid process in place. One of our priorities right now is to provide you with more consistent updates. As we are now moving forward with a solid team and plan, this will be much easier to provide, so please do look forward to that! We will also be answering emails/asks/DMs on a more consistent basis! We want to ensure your trust with us.

January 17th, 2022 Hello customers. Thank you again for your continuous patience with this project. We would like to wish you a positive start to the new years, and provide you an update on what’s been happening:

🔥 Finances: We have been working hard with Stripe to transfer funds to Silvermoon, as Stripe had been managed by Miles. We were finally successful in receiving it, about 5000USD.

Unfortunately, this is only enough for merch and short for the decks/guidebooks and shipping expenses. We have managed to cut down a lot and are currently looking into a plan to cut more and fund more whilst also still retaining the items. Lee, Silvermoon, and Humanbob are willing to take on a few hundred USDs in deficits should it comes to it!

We’ll see to providing a public finance sheet for you to take a look at, along with our finalized plans in the next update, scheduled to be January 30th.

🔥 Production status: We have purchased all the merch items in order to push production period forward! Decks and guidebook will be purchased once we have managed our plan and possibly gotten more funds.

🔥 Avatar Miles: In our previous announcement, we mentioned we were seeking further attempts to contact Miles. It had been left unanswered, unfortunately. We are trying again now as a last ditch efffort.

Please do not make attempts to contact them in the meantime. We are working behind the scenes to make this work.

🔥 Next Update: January 30th! One of our priorities right now is to provide you with more consistent updates. As we are now moving forward with a solid team and plan, this will be much easier to provide, so please do look forward to that! We will also be answering emails/asks/DMs on a more consistent basis!
