I know I don’t post much and I don’t get much traction on here but I’m having some thoughts about words so I’m gonna jot them down.
Something cults do, is create language to reinforce their ideology and the validity of their faith. Often, these words are constructed in a way that assumes their faith as fact.
For example “birth sex” implies that one can become a different sex at some point after birth; the term only exists to solidify the Gender Ideology belief that someone can be born one sex and become the other sex. So by using a term like “birth sex” you’re conseding to a part of their ideology.
Everyone already knows the problems with the assumptions of “cis”. It assumes that those who aren’t trans 1) identify wirh the gender roles they were born into and 2) are comfortable in their bodies. By using it, you are conseding to these assumptions.
“Gender reassignment surgery” perpetuates the concept that biological sex is the same as gender; that by changing that anatomy of their sex, you’ve changed the “gender” of their body to match their Gender Idenrity. This sex denialism is why it’s so hard to talk to Gender Ideologues about actual sex and sexual orientation.
The list of words like this is very long. If someone could find me a “Gender Ideology Lexicon” I’d be happy to go through a bunch more terms. (I’m not joking)
My whole point is: be critical of the words you use, and what the word assumes. This was especially useful to me when I was trying to deprogram myself from the Gender Cult mindset.
This isn’t always a practical way to live your life. If I’m talking to someone whose in the Gender Cult I might say something like “dont you think ppl with the same birth sex share unique experiences that no one outsider that birth sex can understand?” but it’s reasonable bc I’m trying to communicate with them in language they can process.
Anyway, hope you all enjoyed my thoughts about language and The Gender Cult ✌️
