The sharp blow to his stomach felt almost identical to before, when Connor first was assigned to the DCPD, before his deviancy. Much had changed in just the few short months since the android revolution, however, it appeared that Gavin Reed had not. Memories of their previous encounter like this flooded Connor’s processor, Gavin’s words ringing out clearly in his mind, as if it were only yesterday.
❛ bring me a coffee, dipshit! ❜
❛ when a human gives you an order, you obey! ❜
Back then, just like now, such violence was unwarranted, at least in Connor’s mind. The RK800 had done nothing, to his knowledge, to provoke the Detective. Gavin seemed a difficult human to analyse —— all too often, he was unpredictable, and the android, even with his advanced social programming, often found it hard to predict his reactions.
The punch had caused Connor to stumble back, doubling over slightly as the impact rattled his internal wiring and components. It made him feel physically ILL, although a quick diagnostic revealed that nothing was damaged. The LED on his temple flickered a bright yellow as the android regarded Gavin with a deepset frown, struggling the overwhelming urge to fight back. It wasn’t FAIR, he didn’t deserve to be treated like this. But… No matter how badly the RK800 wanted to retaliate, to punch Gavin harder in his smug face, violence would get them nowhere. It would only hinder their relationship further, and Reed was already a nightmare to work with.
