FUNDRAISING FOR THE FAMILY OF ROB "BLACKDEVILX" LEWIS.

I don't normally make my services as an acting coach publicly available. This is for a limited time to help the family of "Final Fantasy Sonic X" webseries creator, Rob Lewis in the wake of his sudden passing, leaving behind a wife and two young boys.

I did not know Rob personally, but respect his work within the Sonic community and had planned to collab with him and other Newgrounds Sonic fan creators and VAs in a Q&A roundtouble livestream. I still intend to do this stream for further fundraising.

Regarding my services, I have a 19-year TV career and I've been training and mentoring working professionals for over half of it, in addition to voice directing Dust: An Elysian Tail, PBS Kids' Lyla in the Loop and The Property Brothers' Dream Factory.

Back when I was just a child, I used to have an edit of BDX's FFSX5 and 6 intro as my PC wallpaper.

As the naive kid I was, barely knowing how to read English—let alone understand it by ear—I used to think those flash games were official. We didn’t have money for 'official' games, so my uncle’s PC and our choppy internet had to do. Every time I thought of the flashy colors, epic animations, and the cool music the game had, I couldn’t help but smile. I even made little clay figurines of Sonic with the Buster Sword and Aeon.

BDX's works were such an inspiration to me. I like to think that they, along with other flash games, were what made me a Sonic fan. I hope these games continue to inspire people for years to come.

I was shocked to hear about the passing of BlackDevilX recently, I LOOOVED their flash game series Final Fantasy Sonic X and played it a lot growing up, and I always looked back on those flash games very fondly. Rest in peace.

Tribute for BlackDevilX, thanks for giving the best childhood on the internet. Especially for Sonic fans out there. Final Fantasy Sonic X is the goat, you had done good for us bringing up the creativity of Sonic community.

You ever sit down and suddenly remember the Sonic RPG Flash series by BlackDevilX?

I played those as a kid—and they hit different.

Like… they weren’t just fangames. They were chaos-fueled, sprite-based, dramatic-as-heck RPG sagas.

Sonic fighting alongside Goku? Chaos Emerald transformations? Battle music that slapped??

It was peak Flash-era greatness.

But after Flash died, everything went quiet. BlackDevilX disappeared. Episode 10 never came.

And no one’s really brought that vibe back.

And I miss it.

I don’t just want a remake—I want more games like that.

More Sonic RPGs that embrace the wild, the edgy, the “what if Shadow went Super AND turned evil” energy.

It doesn’t have to be polished. It just needs that soul.

So devs—if you see this:

If you’re making Sonic RPGs, PLEASE keep that vibe alive. I’d support it, post about it, maybe even make a video tribute. Just… man.

I’m sadly sorry to say this but BlackDevilX, Creator of Final Fantasy Sonic X, has unfortunately passed away at a young age due to a heart attack. He was and still has a huge impact in a lot of our childhoods. In the early 2000s, they made a sonic fan-game that was unlike anything other at the time with great anime music, a red buster sword combined with super sonic wielding it, Aeon The Hedgehog, a crazy awesome oc villain, Super Sonic battles, Megaman, and insane spriteworked cutscenes. He made it all as a FAN PROJECT. A FAN PROJECT FOR ALL TO ENJOY. I hope they that alot of ppl were really happy bc of what they created and a big reason why people think Sonic was the coolest thing ever as a kid. Rest in peace legend and I hope his friends and family are doing well after this 😔. Always remember that tomorrow is uncertain, so cherish your time, go watch Sonic 4 with loved ones, go play Sonic X Shadow Generations and even Final Fantasy Sonic, tell the people you and around you that u love them, try to do the things that you love and make you happy, also do the things you always wanted to do but u never had the time to do, and like Sonic himself, always keep going. ❤️💙💚🤍

Final Fantasy Sonic X might not have been my go-to choice when I wanted to play a flash Sonic game, but it still remains deep in my heart as one of many fantastic experiences. Rest in peace, BlackDevilX.
