Do the movie parts of TOME contain Rockoon?
The TOME compilation movies add several new scenes, though none of them include Rockoon. They also don't include the "Hackers" and "April Fools" shorts he appeared in.
Idk if this is weird, but Rockoon in TOME helped me realize that I didn’t have to be white to have a fursona or be a game nerd despite how really… white most of the fan spaces are. You and Chris really made me feel like I could eventually be comfortable enough to enter gaming chats and spaces as a mixed race person.

One of my main conditions for agreeing to voice Rockoon was the opportunity to make him unapologetically black. I was well aware of the potential stigma with raccoons, so gradually showcasing his relatability and wit was extra important. As I developed Rocky into a character that primarily exists to help others (both in and out of the TOME universe), hearing a story like yours is deeply meaningful to me. Thanks so much sharing it and keep unapologetically expressing yourself and your interests!
Was just flipping through the Terrain of Magical Expertise tag and saw where someone asked you your favorite emotion to voice. Seeing as you posted Sonic and Nine there, I wanna ask - was voicing Ghost of a Chance hard at all? I feel disoriented when I look at their argument because while often in life I'm bringing Sonic's side to the table... I think it's a very easy argument to have been on both sides of. Especially given 9's comment about "It was never -my- home".

From an an acting perspective it was very easy for me and the writing intrigued me for the story they wanted to tell. But from a personal, relatability standpoint?
I HATED it!
Nine is my favorite Sonic character and the one I relate to and understand most. I was furious that Sonic never considered Nine's feelings or what might actually happen to his existence. Nine thought he finally found someone to trust and open up to, yet Sonic openly didn't even see him as a independent, REAL person.
The notion of "Nine betrayed Sonic" always felt reversed to me. Sonic betrayed his autonomy. Kid was just trying to survive and did absolutely nothing wrong in that moment.
Something I really appreciate about Mister Doctor Eggman is how he pays homage to western depictions of Eggman.
Most obviously, his goggles and toupee are based on Eggman's appearance in the first Sonic movie.
But if you analyze his appearance further there are also nods to Eggman's SatAM and AoStH designs. Firstly, he wears a full body spandex suit having a design that divides it into quarters, with red and black on opposing hemispheres and separated by a yellow line. However, Mister Doctor's colors are swapped so that black is on top, with red on the bottom. He also wears boots much like his DIC iterations. And his shoulder pads could be a nod to the ones worn by the doctor's SatAM incarnation (though obviously much more toned down, lol).
And the side of his suit even has a yellow cross further separating these colored sections, similarly to the one on the front of the old cartoon versions.
And maybe it's just me, but his thinner, floppier mustache also reminds me of SatAM Robotnik's mustache.
Beyond his appearance, there's also the fact that, like SatAM Robotnik, he's another version of the doctor who has successfully taken over, and resides in a giant egg shaped base situated in the center of a bleak, polluted city.
And much like older western depictions, Mister Doctor Eggman has been shown to convert animals into mechanized minions (which is itself a more twisted spin on the original badnik concept).
But all of this shouldn't be too surprising considering that the studio that created Sonic Prime, WildBrain, is basically the successor of DIC, the studio that made the old Sonic cartoons. And if early concept art is anything to go by, then they were originally going to be even more blatant with the references. lol

What exactly is Hex's Hue?
Hex's Hue is set in the fantasy world of Seisyn, a place with two twin planets. The story follows two "mages": a mage who has difficulty controlling their magic, named Hayi Starstorm--and a mage who prefers to use brute force over magic, named Ainslie Keyes.
When Hayi casts a spell intended to help them water their plants goes wrong, they accidentally drain all the color in their body… to the point that everything they interact with also turns gray.
They reunite with an old friend from wizard school, Ainslie, who is wanted and on the run. She intends to find a way to clear her name, but it's hard to exonerate yourself when bounty hunters keep being on your trail.
…And when you keep beating said bounty hunters up.
This tale is what happens when a wizard who depends too much on their magic and a wizard who depends too much on her brute strength work together to find a cure for an inconvenient affliction.
But unbeknownst to them… “unknown” forces are making it all the more inconvenient.

What's your all-time favorite show you've worked on, character you've voiced, or experience in the VA business?
My favorite show I worked on was Wishfart, for the immediate connection I had to my castmates and our characters, along with the sheer creativity of the "magical wish gone wrong" stories.
The Sonic Prime episode, "Avoid the Void" is also very high up there, as it's the only one that I recorded at the same time as Ian Hanlin (Shadow), thanks to Zoom.
Rockoon from TOME: Terrain of Magical Expertise is the most meaningful character to me. I eventually got to shape his narrative as he evolved from a goofy trickster to my most emotionally complex character by far.
I also really really adore Dimlit from Transformers: BotBots and Arin from Ninjago: Dragons Rising. I'm truly honored that Arin was created for me.
My favorite overall experience is probably casting & directing voices for Dust: An Elysian Tail. A remote, online cast of forty, mostly brand new voice actors wasn't supposed to be possible in 2012. Especially for an indie game one programmer/artist. I am grateful to have been able to share my knowledge for such an incredible production and so proud of what so many of the actors have gone on to do since.

So far, I've only watched the seasons I've worked on (Master of the Mountain, Crystalized, DR 1-3). Master of the Mountain will always hold a very special place in my heart for being "Cole's season" and my introduction to Ninjago as a whole.
Most importantly, without it, I'd never have had the bittersweet honor of meeting and performing alongside the late great Kirby Morrow, who I grew up hearing on other shows. Incredible performer and even better human.

The kind of cynicism in the YouTube comment below honestly made me a little sad? It's a mindset I think is increasingly and concerningly widespread online. I DO understand being skeptical and cautious, but I too often get the sense that people don't want others to ever grow and get better after screwing up.
A key part of the story I'm trying to tell through Rockoon's character arc is that the journey to redemption and self-betterment begins as a very personal and intimate one. To Rocky, his protective kindness toward Archy is not a performative show for an audience. It's very real and just for the two of them to experience together.
Whether or not he's only doing it to relieve his own guilt and depression, it's still a meaningfully good, positive action he's putting out into the world for someone who clearly needs it.
The only way it isn't, is if Rock's only pretending to be Archy's friend and secretly dislikes him. His guilt still affects him in a way that makes that possibility very unlikely.
Do you think Prime Sonic would get along with Arin? (Also ik surprise your favorite Prime character isn't the on you voice)
Teeechnically Prime Sonic is also Modern/Game Sonic, and I could easily see Arin looking up to him as a hero the same way he once looked up to Lloyd.
I feel like Arin would bake Sonic a chili-based meat pie.

Tails is normally my favorite. Nine very quickly became the most relatable and all-time favorite character for me in ALL of Sonic media. I'd do anything for him.
(Shadow's pretty cool, too. I just wish he'd stop trying to kick my boy Tails in every universe.)
At age 3, I lived in a town with 10 black people.
I HATED being the kid with the "weird carpet hair" kids kept touching. I HATED my hair. I never knew of black barbershops or all our possible styles.
Being Voice Director on "Hairdos & Hair Don'ts" for PBS Kids' Lyla in the Loop was personal.

as someone who watched DR and Sonic prime and loved both, it would be awesome to hear how you went about voicing Arin versus Sonic
Thanks for the kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed both! I won't deny that there's a bit of vocal crossover in moments where Arin gets a bit more aggressive or intense.
Compared to Sonic, I generally perform Arin about 5 years younger and with 25% more cinnamon roll. Ironic, because pies.
