this piece started out as a spite piece, I usually stick to a specific color palette but I deliberately made it rainbowy because I was annoyed by people assuming I'm straight and cis, since I have a child. But I'm actually nonbinary and pan, and I don't stand up for my identity and orientation enough. doing a pride flag just felt a little on-the-nose, so I made it my own. double pride. I would also like to dedicate this piece to my little sister who's just recently come out as lesbian. I'm tearing up just typing this, I'm so frickin proud of her.
