A little about me
Heyyy girlies!
I’m Olivia—28, Capricorn (January 17th, mark your calendars!), Gambian, born in Crawley, raised in Manchester. A bit of an introvert, so when I’m vibing, I’m all in, but when I’m not? You’ll know. 😅
Fashion is my life, and I’m building a luxury streetwear brand called Onovaë. I’m all about creating something high-quality and sustainable, and trust me, I’m not following the usual fashion industry formula. I’ll be sharing the whole behind-the-scenes process over on my YouTube channel, so stay tuned if you want to see the grind up close.
I have 3 younger sisters that I am continuously trying to better myself for and of course for myself , I’ve always been surrounded by strong women. Everything I know, I learned from watching the women in my life—taking notes on what to do, and sometimes what not to do. 😉
I started this blog for young Black women who want a space to keep it real—whether that’s talking about mental health, self-love, beauty, sexuality, or just being unapologetically yourself. I want this to be a spot where we can be honest, vulnerable, and have those conversations that matter to us.
Growing up, I was always that kid who noticed everything—the emotional immaturity, the lack of support—but I also realized early on that I’d have to do most of the work for myself. Fast forward to now, I’m 28, navigating the adult world, learning to trust my instincts, and building the life I’ve always dreamed of.
I get asked all the time for makeup tips, business advice, fitness secrets… so I figured, why not put it all in one place? If you don’t have that older sister or close friends to ask, this blog is here for you. Consider this your go-to space for all things practical and real.
And for those who need a visual guide, I’ll be posting videos on YouTube soon, because let’s bffr—I can talk for hours about random stuff, and now you'll get to hear it. 😉
This blog is for the Black women who need that extra boost, who want to feel at peace with who they are in a world that often doesn’t make space for us.
Black women are allowed to be whatever we want—whether that’s soft, hard, funny, serious, loud, or quiet. The world already does enough to box us in, so let’s create a space where we can be exactly who we are, without explanation or apology.
No one really understands what it’s like to be a Black woman—except us. And it gets draining, having to explain yourself to people who’ll never get it. That’s why this space is here: for us to lean on each other and make this journey a little easier.
As a Black woman who’s often felt misunderstood and lost in the world, I’ve overcome so many challenges. But through all of it, I’ve learned a lot about myself, and now I want to use those lessons to help other Black women and young girls. My goal is to help cut down those feelings of isolation and self-doubt, so we can all grow confidently and know we’re never truly alone in this journey.
So here’s to all my Black queens—let’s build this community together.
Always spread love, peace and good ass vibes x
Talk soon pretty girl <3
