I think most people underplay how much #BlackTax has and continues to contribute to generational trauma and the dissolution of the community. It is why many younger Africans are cutting off their family and communities because on some level paying strangers to support you costs less (financially and otherwise) than leaning on your own people.

I finally finished this book. Dear black child please read this so much will make sense, Dear person of colour please read this book as well you will understand so much as well. When the commencement speaker at an HBCU decides to PAY ALL THE STUDENT DEBT of the graduating class! This is what #BlackTax looks like in a rare situation where a Black person has real wealth! Let's remember that a negligible number of black people have real wealth!
