Dollshe Rosen no face up
I finally sort of decided what to do with the LaDeeDa/Liv doll hybrid I got from @dollsahoy. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to fully repaint her, partially repaint her, or just remove the feathery eye makeup. I decided on a full repaint in, hopefully, a similar style to the original. I want her to look different from her original doll though since I have the original doll (Garden Party Sloane) already. I want them to look related though. (I’m still unsure what I want to do with her hair...)
I took pics of Sloane blank since I don’t know if I’ve seen many photos of blank LaDeeDa heads. The eyewells are pretty defined. The face paint took a while to remove too; it seemed to come off in layers... kinda different from what I’m used to.
Last package from our winter shopping spree arrived! From Doll Chateau (via dealer Angelesque), Kevin with “A body 04-01″ and the event doll Beatrice. These are Emottaja’s dolls, but I’ll probably play with them a lot!
Doll Chateau dolls are all so weird and beautiful, and the white resin is really white. Resin quality is very similar to Dollzone, so it’s very smooth and feels bit plastic-y. We have so many DZ dolls, so it’s pretty standard in our bjd family.
Beatrice has very thin parts, but surprisingly they don’t seem all that fragile. Of course when handling her, you need to be a bit more careful. She weights very little, just 63 grams, and most of that weight is her head! It’s almost like holding nothing! So tiny!
The extra parts on the ankles and wrists of the A body 04-01 don’t seem to do much, other than look interesting. We removed them to reduce the height of the body. Ankles aren't as stable without them, because the socket/joint shape, but it works just fine. Beatrice doesn’t even have ankle and wrist joints, the hooks are at elbows and knees.
Making clothes for these two is going to be interesting. We still need to find the right kind of wigs and eyes, so it’ll probably take a while before I can do a proper photoshoot of them. It should be a fun process, though. ^__^
