“ You weren’t the villain - you were just cruel with good intentions. ”
// in the face of god, does any of that make a difference? if he's to split his actions by morality, would his good intentions outweigh the bad? and, if he were to survive, would anyone ever look at him like a human being again? or, would he be the same as the monster past the waves of blood - something to gawk at, something to observe, experiment on. find out what makes him tick and what motivated him to survive something so horrendous.
with all of the voices circling through his head, it's hard to focus on one that seems to show empathy, that might bring comfort. sweat rolls down his forehead and he wipes at it, his breath anything but steady and stable. "what difference d's it make?", he mumbles, taps his foot impatiently and stares at the closed porthole, as if, he could see straight through the metal. "I'm stuck down here regardless. what's it matter to anyone what intentions I had?"
they didn't listen to him then and they sure as hell won't after this. even if he gets back up. even if those insane c.o.i fucks let him breathe another gasp of air that isn't in this humid submarine, his crimes are the same. they won't change in their eyes. he presses his dry lips together. he just wants to go home.
