Kurosaki Ichigo. The End.
so ichigo has character development by relying on his friends,🏾 until it’s Rukia? And then by relying on her it’s harmful and character regression? lol ok origo bitch
lmao
Ok so first order of business… I am, in fact, not an “origo”, That means an Ichi/Hime fan right? Is my BLEACH slang up to date? lol
Second… I am a bitch, you caught me.
Third… the issue at hand: me, and many others, getting up in arms about defending ichigo’s development this chapter.
So, to begin, don’t straw man me. That’s not what I said.
What I said was that there’s a worrisome obsession with Ichigo being reliant to the point of unhealthiness on “someone” by some shippers. In fact I never even mentioned a ship name or even a characters’s name for that matter. I didn’t want that post to get anywhere near anyone’s tags, because I’m not a dick. It’s not like all shippers of the ship are like that. And they don’t deserve to have something in their tag (re: search) that isn’t positive.
So, to explain my post since it clearly shot right over you… the heart of what I said can be summed up in 3 quotes:
1. “Ichigo is strong enough now to be confident in himself and his ability to protect those important to him. He is able now to overcome despair by himself.“
Ichigo relying on his friends for help in battles and not taking the weight of the world on his shoulders is a fabulous thing. Ichigo learning from his friends and family *how* to cope and *how* to be able to help himself by himself after something bad happens is a fabulous thing.
Ichigo not being emotionally strong enough to function normally when something bad happens and as such needing to have someone by his side constantly to ‘knock some sense into him’ is not a fabulous thing. Ichigo requiring someone to fix his emotional state *for him* is not a fabulous thing.
That is the distinction that some people are failing to make and that is the problem.
2. “There has never been only one person to help Ichigo overcome despair.”
A huge issue I had with this last chapter was people digging back into the fullbring arc for Rukia’s speech and claiming that Ichigo was using/copying her speech.
You see… that infuriated me. That was the main reason for my rant.
Ichigo is not a goddamn parrot. He’s not just someone who takes what Rukia says and spits it back out later. Before—to some extent—he was, but not now and that’s why this development is so important.
Ichigo doesn’t need to quote Rukia word for word or think back to what exactly she said to him or whatever else in order to overcome despair (he doesn’t need to do that with anyone, fyi, this isn’t just about Rukia). He doesn’t need to use Rukia (or anyone) as some type of security blanket anymore.
Ichigo can speak his own damn mind. Ichigo can say something poetic or inspirational and it doesn’t have to come from Rukia’s mouth first, believe it or not.
He has learned from everyone. He has taken what everyone has said to him to heart. He has discovered how to free himself from despair based on the love everyone has given him.
So excuse me if I get pissed off when Ichigo standing up for himself and saying “so what of this ‘despair’?” is credited to Rukia and what Rukia said and what Rukia did and Rukia this and Rukia that.
Yes, Rukia is extraordinarily important to him. Yes, Rukia will most assuredly always be extraordinarily important to him. No, Rukia is not solely responsible for Ichigo’s every word and every action and every positive development.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
3. “You need to stop treating Ichigo like a half of a whole and treat him like he’s his own goddamn person.”
Did anyone else experience this?
i dont even need to look in the bleach tag to know that everyones probably going crazy about yknow that what ichigo said
B A N K A I
Some food for thought on this week’s Bleach piece. With Ichigo releasing his bankai, will that be the trigger to Uryu’s volstandig form? Uryu already has a new bow, which I think was caused when Ichigo pulled out some of his hollow powers, so maybe with Ichigo releasing his bankai it may force Uryu to undergo a transformation. I would ceratainly love to see his face when Ryuken & Isshin tell him about their past. Uryu still may not know of Ichigo’s Quincy side due to how he & his dad don’t get along which will make it more interesting. The bottom line is that Ichigo can’t do this alone, no matter how powerful he is. Uryu has a hidden power that has yet to be unleashed so I think the Ishidas will be the ace in hole. I think it’ll be Uryu to change the dark future that Jurgram saw. Uryu’s ‘A’ must mean Alternator of Fate or something of that form. Ichigo has changed the way things are done & Uryu has changed many soul reapers on their thinking of him as a Quincy. Due to the changes, Uryu has found himself backed by many strong soul reapers with Renji & Rukia being the most up front. Renji has nothing against Uryu whatsoever & is grateful to him & Ichigo for saving Rukia when they came. Ichigo & Uryu have been shining thus far so lets keep cheering for em!!
Bleach 677
Yhwach look horrifying with those eyes!
Bleach 677 Manga Chapter Review ブリーチ - The Moment We All Been Waiting For! Ichigo Bankai vs. Yhwach incoming?
In this week’s chapter of Bleach, the fight between Ichigo and Yhwach continues with Yhwach begins to strike back on Ichigo which lead to the hype train beginning to depart from the station. This is my spoilerific review of Chapter 677, “Horn of Salvation 2″.
Beginning with Yhwach all out surprised when Ichigo used a Gran Rey Cero blend with Getsuga Tenshou
Aw great, more bullshit coming from Yhwach. How will Ichigo respond to this now?
Well...that’s not good. Yhwach is now powered up with “The Almighty” with multiple eyes now popping up
Panning over to Orihime...seeing what left of the throne room...man, I’m so sorry for the contractors who are going to rebuild the ENTIRE room.
And we pan back to the fight between Ichigo and Yhwach
And of course, Yhwach told Ichigo in bullshit matter to watch his step as he gaining some distance
And Ichigo’s foot got impaled as he begins to strike against Yhwach again
Yep, Yhwach has booby trapped the place with Ichigo’s foot taking a critical hit
Yhwach tells Ichigo about The Almighty powers for the billionth time, but Ichigo thinks that he have the upper hand for this part, but of course, Yhwach got that smirk on his face meaning that things aren’t gonna end well.
Okay, it doesn’t end well because that didn’t land a single blow. Ichigo tried to attack him again but because of his Almighty Powers, Yhwach can read him like a book
And...Ichigo got stabbed in the back...literally. Caught off guard.
And as Ichigo begins to feel butthurt by Yhwach’s attack, Yhwach begins to come up to Ichigo, telling him that he made ONE major mistake when taking on the Quincy Leader. One mistake? You said something that is bullshit and made lose focus.
Of course, Yhwach describes his “Future Vision” with using sand as an example. Get it, sand? Because sand is used for a clock that used sand falling a grain, I’ll just shut up and let Yhwach talk.
And Ichigo responded to what Yhwach said, quoting from Tubthumping, that he’ll get knocked down and get up again, if you don’t the the 90s reference, and about to release...
And then it’s over.
Reaction/Thoughts: So what do I think about this week’s chapter of Bleach? Three Words: Mother...Fucking...Bankai. Like Ichigo’s new form isn’t enough to start off the Summer Season, we got him going into Bankai. I know Ichigo going Bankai isn’t new to the fans, he used it numerous times in battle in the past, in his fight with Byakuya, Grimmjow, Ulquiorra, Gin, Aizen, Ginjo, until his first fight with Yhwach where he got his old Zanpaktou broken down. We finally get to see his new Bankai after gaining dual blades for...
...135 chapters. Not since 2013 when we got to see Ichigo with his new blades, a new verison of his Zanpaktou and it looks like Ichigo is going to haul some major ass with his new Bankai...next week. Yep, looks like we’re gonna wait till next week to see the reveal of his new form against Yhwach and can finally once and for all end this fight, but that’s rather unlikely, because something tells me with Ichigo going Bankai, meaning that he will strike against Yhwach, and then begins to pull something up his ass to strike back against Ichigo like we seen in this chapter and the past chapters. So, Ichigo getting Bankai after getting his new Zanpaktou blades, it’s been 2-3 years since that, and I guess it’s totally worth the wait. And I guessing this might finally be the moment where Yhwach is finally getting what he deserve. So all and all, I think this chapter is Ichigo getting his ass whooped leading up to a major power-up. I give Chapter 677...
...an 8.5 out of 10. That’s it, tell me what you think about this week’s chapter of Bleach?
