Yesterday I shared on stories that I had been bed/couch ridden over the long weekend because I want feeling well. I got a lot of sweet messages asking what’s wrong and wishing me well. You guys are such a kind bunch and I appreciate your concern. My period was the culprit behind me not feeling well. My last few cycles have left me feeling extremely fatigue and nauseous to the point where all I can do is lay in bed all day drifting in and out of sleep. Which is annoying because I had things to do and laying around was a complete waste of my LONG Weekend😒 And I’m not the girl that takes BCP and pain killers so all I can do is try and make myself as comfortable as possible until she (miss. Period) is done. While in bed feeling miserable, I went down one of my infamous @google rabbit holes. It started with me asking Google why am I so sleepy on my period 😂. After a lot of clicking, reading, and entering I somehow ended up on an article about Period Poverty in Canada. Did you know in 2018 a Plan International Canada survey revealed a third of Canadian women under 25 struggle to afford menstrual products? I didn’t and my first reaction was “That’s awful 😧” and then my second was “This shit should really be free, free @thedivacup for everyone💁🏾♀️ ”. I cannot imagine having to go through menstrual symptoms and then not be able to purchase products regularly🥺. So then I went back into the Google rabbit hole and saw that the @efrycalgary always welcomes donations of feminine hygiene products. I’ve already made a monetary donation but I will be rounding up some feminine hygiene products in the next couple weeks so these ladies can have everything they need to #BleedInPeace. I also found on google that on November 2-9 , you can join @BleedtheNorth for a week of action against period poverty and period stigma in Canada. SB: I hope no one is offended by my “Bleed in Peace”, it is a dramatic phrase I’ve been using for years towards my menstrual symptoms when they are doing the absolute most. They (cramps, fatigue, back aches etc) are soooo unnecessary😪. Like let me Bleed in Peace miss Period. Leave me a 🔴 if you can relate haha (at Fish Creek National Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGTRhqXBcy7/?igshid=4fviem241lmp
