UU isn’t a particularly good or outstanding story, or in storytelling, but nontheless it is entertaining.

That entertainment makes it compelling.

Really, each protag plays and exaggerated persona pf themselves— obviously this makes it easier to make videos/act etc.

The thing that’s truly compelling is watching the series evolve into a true *story*.

The persona’s become characters. This is achieved through the story events, we slowly see their ideologies be challenged, flaws highlighted and behavior under dire circumstances (traumatized lol).

For me, this is what makes UU worth watching.

In Particular, it’s characters like Flame.

He wasn’t even in s1, so the initial character he played was barley even that exaggerated persona the other protags held at the start. Just a weak ‘persona’, basically flame himself, saying lines and fulfilling the script.

Now, he’s a character. Yes, still a character based off himself, but a character that i want to watch grow.

Part of this is because of the quality of Flame’s videos (imo the best in terms of telling a story also his voice is least annoying and recognizable). The other part is seeing these character vulnerabilities, eg his loneliness, and wanting him to be understood. Or his fatal flaws, his obsession with reputation, which leads to poor treatment of people that could be his friends. Thus, wanting him to grow. Understanding that his character is ultimately one that lacks identity, only is seen as a weapon by both himself and others, and cheering him on each episode to slowly find himself.

That’s just one example of a growth into a real character. (Did Flame bc he’s my fave haha)

Another part of UU i love to see is the improvement in dialogues, shots, and POVs.

getting POVs out of the way, they are slowly becoming more integrated which is so good! They each highlight a different aspect and experience of UU world, but aren’t necessarily fully different ‘worlds’. Though… Spokes POV during invis wemmbu arc was truly jarring. Like bro they didn’t even reference other chars or major events 🥀. However!!!! It overall works well, gives the audience freedom of choice, and guves each CC a moment to shine and get hype for their upload.

The dialogue and shots have improved too!! It makes the videos more immersive and enjoyable and allows viewers to take events more seriously because the characters are too.

I mean this in the sense of dramatic moments having good shots, *deliberate dialogue* etc.

DELIBERATE. The words actually have… foreshadowing 😰 depth😰 value 😰

Can’t think of an exact example, but the new wemmbu vid and the flame vid of being exiled had particularly good dialogue. Shit that stuck w u.

The point is, all of *This (the dialpuge, shots, POVs, Characters etc) are becoming more common and consistent. The improvement in the UU story is so fun to see, and is what personally interests me.
