He hadn't been paying much attention to V when they came in. He was more invested in the little tune he was cooking up, gently strumming at his guitar. He hums softly as they speak, nodding a little as he only half-listens to him. He starts to pick up a melody for his tune, humming along to it. It's a moment more before he realises what V has actually said, and he looks up. "Sorry." He smiles apologetically. "Was in the zone. What did you say?"

He knew his equipment request would be denied. It was a £450,000 piece of equipment after all, but he was certainly going to voice his displeasure to the Brigadier. "Lethbridge-Stewart, how on Earth do you expect me to run a proper lab if you keep denying my request for equipment. Good grief man! What kind of amateur operation are you running here?"

Her head rests against his chest, one of his hearts a steady beat in her ear, as Bluey plays on the telly.

For years, Missy strived for this closeness, the chance to have her friend back. And she thinks... she finally might, or at least they are in a place where he trusts her enough to know she's genuine. But maybe not. Maybe she's fooling herself.

They haven't talked about it yet, only falling into being drawn to each other and laying out other parts of themselves in exchange. There are still secrets she kept, and she can tell there are ones he has as well.

One thing that's changed since she's found him again is that she's been good, or not getting herself in nearly as much mischief as before. Maybe she's finally gotten bored with it, thrills no longer feel the same when plans come to mind, or she's caught an illness that needs a cure and has nothing to do with him.

"Whoever created this show is my new favourite person." She pulls the fuzzy blanket closer, glancing up at the Doctor as she speaks.

She walked right past Albert without another word, straight to Conall's room and knocked on the door.

"Pack your things, you're my son for the week. Or longer. That's to be decided later." Kate called through the door, leaning on the wall outside it.

Quite frankly, Kate was done with her older brother's attitude, and Tamara suggested that it was maybe best for all parties that Conall be out of the house for a few days so that they both came down from the tensions. And Kate wholeheartedly agreed, her nephew needed a break from his dad, needed to breathe in a place where he was comfortable and without judgement.

HIS LOYALTY TO THIS BEING WAS UNWAVERING. Truly, they were one of the very few in the universe whom he put his faith in wholeheartedly, and trusted completely.

EVEN SO, THERE WERE OCCASIONS IN WHICH THEY COULD EASILY TEST HIM. Indeed, as he regarded this particular version of his friend, he wondered if a swift backhanded slap would do anything to wipe the indignation from his face.

OBSERVING THE SITUATION, HIS HANDS WERE FIRMLY POSITIONED ON HIS HIPS. He took particular note of one of the car's back wheels having settled into the slightly damp mud.

He chuckles humourlessly and shakes his head. He knew the Colonel hadn’t had the best of pasts, but that changed nothing for him. He was committed to getting to know the man he had hired. “And who are you to say what I do and don’t want to hear? If you don’t wish to speak of it, fine, but don’t presume that I don’t wish to hear it.”

Every time she's allowed out of the vault and onto the TARDIS, she claims the seat up and off to the side. It allows her to have space while still being within watching distance of the Doctor while she reads.

Now, if Nardole were aware of their little arrangement, there might be a bit of a fight, but nothing that couldn't be handled. Or so the Doctor reassured her that first evening as she searched through his bookshelves for a book to keep herself occupied with.

She isn't particularly fond of the bloke, but finds it funny to watch him sweat when he thinks she's up to something, when she, in fact, is not. And the detail that he was left behind by River Song, Missy has to respect the consideration not to leave him alone.

The Doctor has never done well alone.

"Do you need help with that?" Missy inquires, looking over where the Doctor is tinkering under the console. "It kind of looks like you do."
