hello i love the font you use for your gifs would you mind telling me the name of the font and how you get the border around it?
Sure thing, anon. :)
I always use Myriad Pro, bold italic. Text size differs. For 245px gifs I use 10-11pt and for 500px gifs I use 12-14pt. It really depends on how much text you want on a gif.
Once you’ve added the text, right click the text layer and select ‘Blending Options’. On the left you will have to click “STROKE”. I use size 1px for the border.
I tried to add pictures, but tumblr is a nut. Sorry.

How to: Intro to the move tool
Okay, so this is just kinda a quick guide that showcases some of the features of the move tool, and... well, stuff like that. 1. Transformation Controls - these are points that allow you to basically resize and rotate your layers (photo credits: taehyungA)
If you want to scale your picture down by a certain percentage, you can do so in the boxes highlighted in purple. The blue highlighted box is for angles (positive degree: rotates to the right, negative degree: rotates left). And the green arrow is just to show you what your cursor will look like when you free rotate (meaning to rotate by hand).
2. Transforming your layers - When you press ctrl/cmd + T, it allows you to... well, transform your layer. After you press ctrl + T, right click on the canvas, and a little drop down menu will show up.
Here are some examples:
3. Slicing and moving your text - Doing something like this requires both the move tool, and the pen tool. First, start off by making a path with the pen tool (make sure to close the path (connect the points)). After that, make a selection by right clicking on the canvas and clicking on "make selection."
Then go to the move tool, and use the arrows on your keyboard to move the selection to your liking. Repeat this process for all the parts you want to slice and move, etc.
4. Clipping masks - Say you want to add a texture over your text/render/whatever. One of the ways you can do this is by applying a clipping mask. Paste your texture on a new above your text/render, and then right click on the texture layer, then select "create clipping mask."
And then ta-dah! You've created a clipping mask. (Ignore the gradient layers and new background. I just added that to make it look more appealing. They don't have anything to do with clipping masks.)
5. Blending options - You can also use a pattern overlay and gradients to decorate your text. While holding ctrl, click on the thumbnail of your text/render/whatever, this will make a selection of it. After that, make a new layer, and then you can use the fill bucket tool to fill it with a pattern, or apply a gradient. (you can delete the original layer after that, if you think you won't need a back up) I applied a gradient, and then I went to the layer's blending options (right click on layer>blending options), and applied a pattern overlay.
So yeah, that's it. That's just some of the basics for how to use photoshop. I hope this helped some of you at least. c:
