Ominus Gaunt, really blind or not?

Okay, so I’m playing through hogwarts legacy, and something Anne says in the beginning of “The shadow in the relic” quest has me thinking.

spoilers below be cautious.

okay, so you go and meet Ominus at the Feldcroft Catacombs, and Anne says this particular line. “You saw what he’s doing in the catacombs!” She says this to Ominus, who is canonically blind… Would you like to explain Anne?

So I have a new au I made all by my self called Wasteland Beats. It's kinda (for simplicity's sake) like JSAB X Fallout. I have a basic grasp of the idea currently but as all things, it is prone to change. WLB Blixer is stuck in his Annihilate form but permanently blinded. He follows the Heroes (more like dragged) to help find the shards of the Tree that broke during the wars against Cuda. I love him a lot and I hope y'all will too. May even make an ask blog for it like with JSAV (Just Shapes and Viruses).
