There had been good days.

Sometimes everything was alright and he could pull it off. Pretending. His eyes would wander the space as if. He'd look in other people's eyes, as if. He did everything, as if.

But then... there were bad days.

When he exhausted his magicka and couldn't use it for nagivating. When he couldn't use it to determine other living beings' faces. When he bumped into furniture and gave himself bruises. When he cut his hands by accident as he pretended everything was fine and he was making himself dinner because nobody could know and nobody cared to notice.

Nobody noticed he was blind.

He remained the always cheerful mischief maker who had a bad day today. He hissed in pain when he cut himself and tossed the knife away in desperate frustration, which he immediately regretted. Loki raised his left hand to his lips to suck on his new wound. A reason why he didn't have any juice left was because he used it mostly to hide his imperfections and to live pretending, day to day. Now he had another wound to hide.

He closed his useless eyes and felt tears gather in them. Grow up, he told himself, and strangely enough, his own voice sounded like Odin's in his mind. But it was no use. His shoulders shook as he fought with the sobs. He'd been looking for so long for a cure and found nothing.

He was blind for the rest of his existence. Which was a really, really long time.
