Norsery Rhymes, Northern Mythology from A to Z Blindi / Blindr - Odin, The Blind One Well here we are another Thor’s Day and another 20 min sketch of a Norse (and Germanic, sometimes Celtic) mythological characters. This week it’s Blindi / Blindr. Odin in disguise. Odin’s name as “The Blind One”. Is possibly two fold. One is Blindr is part of his aspect as the wise wanderer. In this case a blind man imparting tests and wisdom. The other is possible reason Blindi is used, is as Odin is the one that while overseeing the battlefield bestows blindness on the enemies of his devoted or worthy. So either being blind or giving blindness.
