John Bramblitt's paintings are so inspiring. If you haven't heard of him, you should look him up. He went blind in 2001 due to complications from epilepsy. He began painting through touch and texture. I'm blessed to have a couple of his paintings, but this one is my favorite, titled Stolen Moment. Detail of "the Blind Painter". 2003, Oil on canvas This painting was inspired by Rembrandt's painting of the Angel whispering in the apostle Abraham's ear I saw this painting in The louvre in 1989 when I was a student. I was so impressed by the way words seemed to blow from the Angels mouth into the apostle's ear. In my version I tried to express the complex relationship of inspiration. The voice of the Angel is not always clear. And as I sort out out the words of inspiration I often feel like I am a blind man entering the world of the unknown. #rembrandt #louvremuseum #blindpainter
