As we come to the end of our first 100 hrs at Yoga Teaching Training I’m reflecting on what this picture doesn’t show. . It doesn’t show the sweat, the struggles and tears. . It’s easy to just show the good on instagram (and the world) but generally the ugly is kept hidden. . The physical and emotional stress are kept locked away. . We leave out the darkness to seem perfect or is it our competitive nature kicking in? . Why do we shy away from showing our cuts, bumps and bruises? . Personally, reflecting back in these last couple weeks I would have preferred to post a picture of me in my most vulnerable moment. . As these are the moments that I cherish the most from this training. . The moment when I was so terrified all I could do was cry (and cry hard and publicly I did). . This picture was taken only a couple hours prior and I had no idea the overwhelming emotions that were about to derail me. . But the beauty that came out of all consuming darkness was not only magical but was made of pure love and made the journey worth it. . I can never thank my group enough for the love, support, compassion and just holding space for me. . Blending in with our surroundings- we fell through the leaves, while I swept forest floor tidy by the fur of my funky pants.
