It’s NOT hopeless, it’s NOT useless, thinking there’s no point is the real reason why they have a chance of passing these laws

Spreading the idea of giving up will allow them to win, they want you to give up

Don’t allow others to give up, remind them that there is still hope, call your representatives and tell everyone that this can be stopped

Monday seems to be the date that has been posted for the KIDS act because of it being on the schedule for that day, though there’s a chance it could be pushed back for another day this week

KIDS act package will be voted on in the house on Monday at the earliest

The KIDS act is under consideration for next weeks house vote. Which will be happening Monday at the earliest

It seems that the KIDS act will be “Legislation considered under suspension of the Rules”

This basically means

“Under suspension, floor debate is limited, all floor amendments are prohibited, points of order against the bill are waived, and final passage requires a two-thirds majority vote.”

The reason why it’s happening as soon as Monday is because it’s under suspension and “Under the rules of the 119th Congress, motions for suspension of the rules are allowed only on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays”

Under suspension is usually done to quickly pass bills “ which enjoy broad, bipartisan support.”

KIDS ACT has passed the house

The KIDS passed the house today, with 267-112

It’s not known when the act is gonna go to the senate

But it’s also known that there’s a less of a chance of it passing because of the senate want of a “duty of care” version of Kosa

OpenAI is right now endorsing KOSA

It has been announced that OpenAI is currently backing the KOSA bill

Senator Blumenthal has said that

“Today, OpenAI’s endorsement adds to the overwhelming recognition even by Big Tech itself that it’s time to pass the Kids Online Safety Act. Increasingly the only people opposed to this bill are Mark Zuckerberg and his lobbyists. It’s time for anyone left in his camp to choose the right side of history and join us.”

Chris Lehane, Vice President of Global Affairs at OpenAI has said that

“We’re really excited to support the Kids Online Safety Act and for the bipartisan leadership of Senators Blackburn and Blumenthal,”

“When it comes to tech, we should treat kids as kids and that means making sure it is safe, age-appropriate, and grounded in real-world support. KOSA is a big and important step toward doing right by our kids.”

“The announcement comes as a key Senate committee prepares to move forward on its version of KOSA, after a House committee passed a largely overhauled version.”

many have pointed out that openAI supporting this bill isn’t a good thing and shows off a lot of hypocrisy
