After the discussion between Octavia and Indra about the dark year, I'm wondering if Octavia fears wonkru falling apart. For 6 years she had to fight to bring and keep them together, help them fight and make painful decisions to keep them alive. What if she's afraid that they will break apart and start fighting amongst themselves, like we saw this episode, if she gives up or gives control to someone else. She's spent 6 years trying to keep them alive, whether she went to far or not, to let them die or get destroyed now would be something she's terrified of.
