Day 31: Mafia AU

Two Halves Of The Law | A Danplan Mafia AU

Summary:

Hosuh, a run-of-the-mill cop, has never strayed from the path of the law. Nothing eventful has ever happened in his otherwise principled and periodic life. That was until a case came into his peripheral, a murder of a beheaded woman. The detective assigned to it and his close childhood friend, Daniel, managed to convince him to investigate a certain street with him. It was there Hosuh happened upon a man down a murky alleyway. A man with violet hair and piercing dahlia purple eyes. A man who, coincidently, was none other than the head of a mafia, Stephen. Through striking a deal, the cop and detective agree to work with Stephen to find the killer and bring justice, all as long the mafia remain secret. And so, hijinks ensue as Hosuh is sucked into the world crime as he uncovers the truth of the “justice” he seeks. Through cartels, a rival mafia, lots of lies, dirty desires and even more murder, who could this mastermind be?

UPDATES ON MYSTERYSTUCK

I have this whole thing laid out but not quite

First: sprites

Some background knowledge:

I don't like the Homestuck sprites

I'm SORRY ok

Their feet are weird

It's hard to express emotions with them through body language

They dONT HAVE ANY ARMS USUALLY

they're so.....cookie cutter

Feels too homestuckie

So I uhhhhhhh based it off the hiveswap style instead cause it's ~sleek~ and I apologize I know that's not tradition

Now some notes:

Arthur, as you can see, has both of his arms. I assure you, this won't be the case by the end of the comic.

Also, Vivi's sweater has a thing on it and Lewis' jacket is open. You gotta sacrifice stuff for Homestuck consistency ™.

Homestuck consistency??? They don't follow the name patterns! I'm well aware of this and I joke about it in the first act don't worry

Hold on, there's Chloe, but where is duet? Dead.

Also, what's with Chloe's name? She doesn't have one so I stole my best friend Abby's last name made one up

You think I'm gonna fit her godtier OVER that cosplay? You're totally nuts

At some point the cosplay is...unfortunately removed. This is her casual look.

Don't be sad: I tried drawing her cosplay and I hated every detail-oriented second of that artistic process.

Heres the embodiment of my suffering for your viewing pleasure. Hope it'll suffice.

In other news:

I had to do some planning for a cool weapon called the Lethal Dos. I can't reveal the full plans for it and who gets to use it and in what context because that's a huge spoiler. But I can still show you how COOL IT LOOKS:
