Koholasaurus Milk Tea

pressed blue pea and ixora flowers!
Day 1/60 days of productivity
There’s a lot of things on my mind and I need to go to bed soon but here’s the update for today:
Attended 4 lectures for the day, stayed attentive through out and took notes
Watched till lecture1 to 3/36 and understood things clearly
Read 1/6 pages of the paper for tomorrow’s lab meet
Also, I made blue pea lemon tea again in the night to sip while I read the reference text book. The blue pea tea is straight from my garden. I planted them in mid march and collected + dried the flowers. I made ink out of some and kept enough for 5-6 cups of tea aside and forgot about it.
i call this drink "i haven't seen the sky in 3 days so i'll make one"
🏙while i'm cooped up inside and can't visit pretty cafes to study at, this is my substitute! it's a good alternative to always drinking dalgona coffee, it looks MAGICAL, and it only requires 3 ingredients!
🧊u need: blue pea tea, milk, sugar (optional: condensed milk)
🌃brew the blue pea tea for 3 minutes and let it cool! while it does that, prepare and milk and sugar base + condensed milk if you have it. add 6-7 ice cubes (**essential for "layering"!) and slllowwwwlllyyy pour the blue pea tea over! super pretty, super easy.

This recipe has no blue food colouring. Yes, you read that right! On the other hand, if you don’t live in Southeast Asia, you might find it hard or expensive to get dried blue pea flowers (also known as butterfly pea or Bunga Telang). (Here is the link to Amazon, where it costs $16 for 50g) I GOT MINE AT $3 FOR 100G MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
@hungryleow and I modified this recipe from Martha Stewart. Alcohol is optional. It was really creamy even without churning, and the popsicles were hard to get out because of that. If I made this recipe again, I would just make it in a giant tub and eat straight from it. Yummmmmmmmm.
Ingredients
For Basic No-Churn Ice Cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk (400grams)
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 tbsp Whisky (optional)
400 ml heavy cream
For Flavour and colouring
1 tsp Sea Salt
¼ cup dried blue pea flowers (Also known as butterfly pea or Bunga Telang)
~ 3 tbsp boiling water
Method
1. In a small heat-resistant bowl, pour boiling water over dried blue pea flowers.
2. Leave to soak for 5 mins, pressing on the flowers with a metal spoon.
3. Leave to cool.
4. Mix vanilla and alcohol into the sweetened condensed milk.
5. In another bowl, whip cream until stiff peaks form.
6. Gently fold in the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture. Be careful not to over-mix, or it will fall flat.
7. Blend the cooled steeped blue pea flowers in a food processor.
8. Gently fold in the flowers and sea salt into the cream mixture, until it all becomes light blue.
9. Pour into moulds or containers, and pop it into the freezer for 6 hours, or until it freezes solid!
10. Ask a Moogle to help you get it out of the mould and enjoy!
