So a LONG time ago I did the original and only a few people have been blessed (cursed) to have seen it. I wanted to redraw it……just…..better lmao. I’ve changed my turian design so many times

But then I stopped cause his face was giving “I require access to your finest cheeses”/uncanny vibes and I had to stop (do you know what it’s like to be drawing and just have 🔵W🔵 staring into your soul?

I suck at introductions, but let's give it a shot anyway.

I'm Michelle or Mich, formally known as BlueClanMarkings, and I write Mass Effect and Dragon Age fanfiction. I love angst, smut, angst, romance, drama, did I mention angst, and staying away from canon events. I love AUs too.

Fifty Sovereigns - Female Trevelyan & Varric Tethras The first story in the saga of Beatrice "Bee" Trevelyan. Takes place in 9:31 Dragon in Kirkwall. It's a loss of innocence/coming of age story.

Beatrice Trevelyan had other ideas.

The Shape of a Lie - Female Shepard/Garrus Vakarian An angsty and long Western AU set in a fake 1890s USA. Expect horses, gunfights, hunting, death, and graphic descriptions of violence.

Hired to infiltrate an outlaw gang, bounty hunter Garrus Vakarian soon discovers that some jobs are more complicated than they seem.

Ten thousand dollars is a hard offer to refuse.

And loyalty is a dangerous thing to gamble with.

By Starlight and Sapphire - Mainly Shakarian, but it's on hiatus. Follows the story of Marika Shepard from 2174 and all the way to post-war. Currently in ME2 timeline. It respects canon events to a degree before taking a hard left turn toward AU-territory. Marika is "my" Shepard: infiltrator, Earthborn, War Hero, true neutral, pragmatic, and oddly romantic. A proper best friend dynamic with Garrus that grows into romance.

The Shakarian Works - Female Shepard/Garrus Vakarian Features just one-shots of these two lovable idiots. More often than not, it's just smut.

The Turian Daddy Works - Female Shepard/Other Turians Lorik Qui'in, Castis Vakarian, Adrien Victus - the other very fuckable turians in our galaxy. More to be added.

The Pinky Swear - Female Shepard/Garrus Vakarian Shepard and Garrus meet up a few years after the war to follow up on a pinky swear they made right before Ilos: if both are single by the age of thirty-five, they'd marry each other. This is fluff. I rarely do pure fluff but when I do I go fucking hard.

Some turian parents like to have a hand in who their kids end up with. None of them can compete with Castis Vakarian's overbearing nature. Garrus has had enough of his father's constant nagging, but nothing has helped stop him.

This is a romcom told entirely through forum posts, edits, and comment chaos.

No chance.

So when she asks her sexy turian sniper vigilante boyfriend to teach her what ‘calibrating’ actually means, she expects a lecture drier than the surface of Tuchanka. What follows is… technically educational. Mostly hands-on. And definitely passionate.

“You keep saying you handled it, but what does that mean? Handled how, exactly?”

James hesitates for a brief moment. Then he smirks at how proud of himself he is for dealing with it like an adult.

“She pulled me into life support to talk. We both agree it was good, but that it can’t happen again,” he says. “Easy as anything.”

Steve’s expression shifts into something skeptical. “Just like that?”

“Just like that.” James shifts against the crate, voice firm. “We’re professionals. It was one time and it’s done. I’ve moved on.”

“Uh-huh.”

They sip their drinks in silence. Earthy, smoky, just a little sweet, James lets it linger on his tongue for a beat before swallowing. It burns all the way down and blooms in his gut.

Steve tilts his head. “So, what happened?”

“You lookin’ to gossip?”

“Hell yeah.”

James lowers his voice. “If I tell you, you can’t repeat this to anyone.”

“You know I won’t.”

He watches Steve for a second, then nods. As soon as he starts retelling the story, his eyes go vacant and drift to the metal floor.

“I found her upstairs by her door. She’d just gone to the bathroom. I caged her in to mess with her, and we had a little back and forth. Something I said made her roll her eyes, and then she kissed me. Just a quick peck. And looked horrified right after, like what she’d done hit her after the fact. She said my name. I can’t even explain what it sounded like, but it just made me kiss her back. And then things just… exploded. Ended up in her bed, clothes not even fully off. Tried to be good. Make it last a little while. But she wanted it hard, so I just—”

“Alright! Don’t need details,” Steve says, lips twitching. “But you’re telling me you don’t think about it every five minutes?”

James’s laugh comes quick. It’s a little too loud.

“Nope. Not at all. I’m totally fine. Didn’t mean anything, so why would I keep thinking about it?”

“Because you still look like hell.”

Grinning despite himself, James shakes his head. “Nah, you worry too much, Esteban. Just tired from going hard at the gym and not sleeping. Just gotta hit the bunks early, and I’ll be fine in the morning. I’ve got this under control.”

Steve studies him for a long moment. “Mmm-hm. Sure you do.”

James claps him on the shoulder, smile wider. “Relax. It’s over.”

But as he sits there, smirking like it’s nothing, heat creeps up his neck and he realizes he’s hard just from talking about it.

10. Favorite trope/element/scenario in fic?

I think I have a few, honestly, it's hard to pick just ONE. 

I am fond of the “Battle Couple” trope (no one saw that shit coming -*cough*-Garrus and Shepard-*cough*- )

“Friends to Lovers” is always nice to read, but  “Enemies to Friends to Lovers” is good too! There are some First Contact AU fics for Shakarian that play with that trope, and they are lovely so far! 

 “Canon Divergent” and “AU” tropes are interesting to see where the writer has gone with it! (Im working on one, myself!) 

“Slow Burn” fics are always rewarding because they keep me hooked with the promise that “this will work out, eventually!” 

Someone on ao3 did an AU/Crossover of Mass Effect and Pacific Rim, and it actually fit REALLY well together, but I can't find the damn fic anymore! 😫

Though, I am an absolute SUCKER for the “MC has the badass scene” scenario. Like yeah, we KNOW This character fucks, NOW TELL EVERYONE ELSE, PLEASE!? 

13. Has a fic ever made you cry?

Absolutely. I don't make a habit of reading them voluntarily unless I feel like I need to cry about something, but sometimes I just read a summary on a Fic and I feel like I HAVE to read that. Other times, I get bitch-slapped mid-fic. 

14. What tropes/elements/scenarios get you the worst?

Not quite sure how you want this interpreted, but i'm going to assume it means which ones get me either hooked or completely destroy me.

The Grief/Mourning trope of saying goodbye to a loved one who has passed away always ALWAYS wrecks me. It's my worst fucking nightmare. I only really have my mom, dad and maternal grandparents. I don't have many irl friends at all, and my closest one moved to Alberta and I only see him once a year for the Fan Expo in Edmonton. They hit WAY closer to home than I would like, personally, in recent months, and get me bawling because I can't help but see snippets of the grief I'll eventually have to experience.

On a more POSITIVE NOTE, Author's INSTANTLY have my attention with anything, so long as I'm into the subject you're writing about. Fluff, Angst/Comfort, Smut, Found Family, Star-crossed Lovers, Hurt/Angst, the list goes on!

I'm not picky and I love seeing the different direction other writers take, even if we are all writing about the same characters in a  Fandom, they all have their own unique flavors. “Everyone writes, but NOBODY writes like YOU” kind of deal, and I am 100% here for that!
