5.) Is there any significance behind their hair color?
To some small degree, yes, but overall, no.
Jaden's hair color is brown because that's what his main face claims have; brown hair. So, while I did have an idea of what I wanted him to look like in my head, I also built his appearance around the actors I chose to be his stand-ins while I was creating and polishing him. This is how/why their hair color and bolder facial features were eventually tacked on during the process of making him because these traits stood out and appealed to me.
Dennis' hair color does have some minor significance to it though because he also started off with brown hair before I eventually changed it to his current color, auburn. I specifically went with auburn too because when I wanted the change to be subtle yet noticeable without putting me in this awkward position of having irrelevant commissions that still depicted him with deep brown hair. This isn't an end of the world matter, no, but it did affect my decision making nonetheless because I didn't want that money to be wasted.
Further more, as I started to better understand how freckles develop on people I opted to change his hair color so that this very defining trait (freckles) would better match his overall appearance. Brown haired people can have freckles, absolutely, but it's more common in red heads. Plus, Dennis is - overall - a love letter to Cricket, and making him more and more gingery like them has been nothing but a delight for them. So, ultimately, the change was necessary.
It's not super significant, but it is important. ♥
6.) Is there any significance behind their eye color?
Jaden's eye color is very deliberately green because I wanted them to tie in with his association with M.E.C.H.. It's not a grand detail or even one that calls a lot of attention to itself and him, but it is a little subtle point I put in just because.
Dennis' grey-green color is just something Cricket picked on a whim during a descriptive moment in our early role play scenes with him, and I never looked back after that moment. It could be argued now that the color strongly ties him in with Jaden significantly because they're a mix of Jaden's color and the maternal family's last name. But honestly, it was a spur of the moment decision.
7.) Is there any significance behind their height?
I made Jaden 6 foot 2 inches because that's my brother's height, and a lot of Jaden's personality is inspired by my brother's. The hairstyle too, if I'm being wholly honest. So, I snuck a lot of my brother's traits into him while I was building Jaden up.
I won't lie - Dennis was a random number. I regret it now. He's too tall.
