Request from @buchananbelova : “Can you do a hot headed Bucky who just needs your touch to calm him?”
Bucky slammed his phone down on the kitchen counter louder than he intended. He roughly shoved his hands in his pockets to remove his keys, wallet, and everything else that felt too heavy for him to bear in the moment. His nostrils flared, as they always did when he was angry or frustrated, a telltale sign that he was in a bad mood. The vein in his head pulsated, and he felt a tension headache brewing.
You quietly watched Bucky from across the room. He acknowledged that you were on a work call and was trying his hardest to keep his composure, but try as he may, he couldn’t hide anything from you.
Walker entered the room to grab something from the fridge, Bucky's hostile glare meeting his eyes. “What's the evil eye for Barnes?” He scoffed, never really able to read social cues. He was searching the fridge for a snack and rummaged through all the drawers loudly.
“Walker, are you fucking serious? Y/N is on a work call” Bucky hissed, as he loosened his tie and kicked off his dress shoes. His heart was racing inside his chest, Walker was the last person he wanted to speak to right now.
“My bad!” He threw his hands up defensively before he started to whisper “Hey, how did the congress thing go? I bet they were pissed about your resig-“
Before Bucky physically threw Walker into a wall you wrapped up your call and walked over to the pair. Bucky's back muscles were noticeably tense, and both fists were flexing so you knew Bucky was about to explode.
“John-” you placed your hand on Bucky's forearm softly, as you felt him immediately soften under your touch. “Can you give us a minute?” You smiled sweetly but your eyes widened in a way that John understood. You both had a mutual respect for one another, so he nodded and took his snack to his room.
You turned toward Bucky, his eyes were a darker shade of blue than normal, glacial. His face was still tinged pink with annoyance as you quickly worked to wrap your arms around his torso.
“Talk to me baby” you whispered into his stomach as you hugged him, his once tense body finally able to relax under your touch. You made him feel lighter, and at ease. The smell of your sweet perfume grounded him.
“It went so bad” he groaned, wrapping his arms around you so that you were both holding one another and swaying slightly. He couldn’t fathom how to put his feelings into words now that you were here to comfort him, he just couldn’t find himself to be upset anymore.
You felt his chest rise and fall, it was as if he was finally breathing easier. You noticed that he wasn’t as frustrated now as he was about two minutes ago, a faint smile spread across your face.
“How do you do that so well?” He effortlessly picked you up and placed you on the countertop so that the two of you were at eye level.
You decide to play coy, looking at him innocently with a smile. “Do what?”
“Center me? Calm whatever crazy storm I got in this head of mine” he lets out a low chuckle, as he leans into you, his mouth inches from yours.
“Because I love you” you hummed as you kissed him, your hands cupping his perfectly chiseled cheekbones.
“I love you too baby” he whispered into your mouth between kisses.
