💥 Caught in the Storm. Wrapped in His Jacket. Something Changes. 💥
When a sudden downpour leaves you soaked and shivering, Jake Muller does something unexpected—he gives you his jacket. He says it's nothing. You know better. Beneath the rain, sarcasm, and gunpowder-scented leather, something warmer begins to take root. A story of small gestures, stolen glances, and the softest kind of tension between two people who pretend they don’t care... until they do.
The downpour came out of nowhere—like a tactical ambush with nature as the enemy. One second, the sky was gray and brooding, and the next, the clouds opened up in a torrential flood, soaking everything in sight. You barely had time to gasp before icy raindrops pelted your clothes, plastering your shirt to your skin and sending chills straight to your bones.
Jake reacted instantly, stepping in front of you as if he could shield you from the rain with nothing but his presence. For a moment, you just stared at him, struck by the quiet protectiveness in his stance. His eyes flicked skyward, narrowed, then dropped back to you with a flash of concern that felt more personal than usual.
“You serious? You didn’t check the forecast before we left?”
You crossed your arms over your chest, trying to hide the shiver that ran through you. “You didn’t either.”
He huffed, the corner of his mouth twitching like he wanted to argue but couldn’t be bothered. Instead, he tugged at the zipper of his leather jacket, yanked it off with a grunt, and shoved it toward you. “Here. Take it.”
You blinked. “Jake, you don’t have to—”
“I’ll survive,” he cut in, voice low and final. “Just take the damn thing.”
Still reluctant, you accepted it, your fingers brushing his as you slid your arms through the sleeves. The leather was heavier than expected—warm from his body heat and carrying his scent: cologne, faint gunpowder, and the ever-present trace of motor oil. You exhaled in relief, pulling it tighter. It wasn’t just comforting—it was grounding. Like he’d wrapped a piece of himself around you without even realizing it.
“Wow,” you murmured. “This is… really warm.”
Jake turned away, the tips of his ears noticeably red. He scratched the back of his neck like he always did when flustered. “It’s just a jacket. Don’t make a big deal out of it.”
You smiled, savoring how the jacket dwarfed you—the sleeves falling over your hands, the shoulders too broad. “Well, I’m not giving it back. You might’ve just lost your favorite jacket.”
He stiffened slightly, as if processing the meaning behind your words, then chuckled under his breath. “Figures. The one time I do something decent…”
Tilting your head, you gave him a playful look. “You trying to impress me, Muller?”
He paused a beat—longer than usual. Then shot you a look, half glare, half smirk. “Would it work if I was?”
You didn’t answer. Just kept walking beside him, the jacket cinched tight around you. The rain didn’t seem so cold anymore. Each step felt lighter, like some wall between you both had finally cracked. A low rumble of thunder echoed in the distance. Jake instinctively stepped closer, his arm brushing yours. He didn’t move away. You glanced at him, catching the way his jaw tensed and his gaze stayed forward, determined not to meet your eyes. But the blush creeping down his neck was impossible to miss.
“Thanks, Jake,” you said, voice soft, nearly lost in the rhythm of the rain.
“Yeah, whatever,” he muttered. “Don’t get used to it.”
But the crooked smile tugging at his lips said otherwise. And even as the storm raged on, wrapped in Jake Muller’s jacket—with his warmth lingering on your skin and something unspoken blooming between you—you’d never felt more at home.
