Taken Character: Shane Roberts | Werewolf | Demon Hunter | Alignment:  Slayer Organization | 23 years old

Life is never easy for a college boy, especially when the college boy is a werewolf. Shane Roberts was born in Los Angeles, California to two loving and nurturing parents. The star of his football team with a loving girlfriend and a full scholarship, things couldn’t have been better for him. However, that all changed for him when one night, during the full moon, Shane was attacked by a large rabid dog. The dog would’ve killed him had it not been for two young girls; Vi and her friend Kennedy. Flustered by the attack, Shane was bewildered by what the girls were telling him, that they were Slayers and that his attacker was a werewolf. Unfortunately he had been bitten, and was likely a werewolf, too. 

Scared of the girls and thinking them insane he fled back to his house and to his parents. Unfortunately, Vi and her friend were right. The night of the next full moon, Shane felt strange, on edge, and scared but at the same time, he felt powerful and unstoppable. Before he realized that the two girls had been right about him, he was already lying in a pool of blood; his parent’s blood. The werewolf, the creature that was now a part of him, had killed his family. Distraught and scared, Shane ran away, leaving his old life behind him and confiding himself to subways and cheap motel rooms. The guilt of his parent’s death weighed heavily on him and he strived to make sure that he never harmed an innocent again. 

It was in the subway that he encountered the Slayer Vi again, this time she saved a group of homeless people from the clutches of a vampire, knowing that this girl would have the answers he pursued her and begged her for his help; Vi agreed. She took him back to the Slayer Organization where, with the help of Rupert Giles, he was able to learn more about the creatures of the night. Instead of fearing them, he vowed to protect people from befalling the same fate as him and so, took up the role of freelance hunter.

Powers and Abilities: 

Werewolf physiology grants him the potential to transform into a berserk, lupine creature with enhanced strength, speed, stamina and sense of smell.

Open Character: Dylan Murray | Human | Warlock | Alignment: Angel Investigations | 22 years old

Dylan was raised in the witches coven of Devon, England. His mother and father both came from magic and the practices have been known to him since childhood. Though Dylan's father was also a Warlock, Dylan never had the chance to meet him. His parents met at the University of Dublin at the magical arts club, but when his mother fell pregnant, she found herself suddenly single. She dropped out of school and returned to her family in Devon where she and the other witches raised Dylan. Occasionally he would travel to London with his mother for business purposes or for leisure, but they always returned home soon after, and when he turned twenty one he decided to move to Los Angeles.

Upon arriving in LA, Dylan's wish was to be an actor but he soon found out that show business was a harsh place for a naive adolescent. Having little luck finding work, he accepted gigs as a magician. He still found himself falling behind on his rent and when his landlord kicked him out of his apartment, Dylan was left with nowhere to go. He found his way to the run down hotel, The Hyperion, thinking it looked like a cheap place to stay. Dylan was unaware that the hotel was actually the headquarters of a supernatural detective agency and so it came as a great surprise when he was attacked by a demon right there in the lobby. The demon was looking for Angel but Dylan subdued it with magic just as Angel appeared at the top of the stair case.

Angel was curious about the young man and upon asking him who he was and finding out some of his history, Angel offered to let him stay at the hotel free or charge in exchange for help in the magical arts when he required it. Dylan has worked for Angel Investigations ever since.

Open Character: Andrew Wells | Human | Watcher | Alignment: Slayer Organization  | 22 Years Old

Andrew had always been the younger brother, the weirdo, the less important. He was used to the bullying and the ridicule, but took solace in the thought that one day he could best all those bullies by following in his older brother Tucker’s footsteps and learn to summon demons. His skill gained the attention of classmates Warren Mears and Jonathan Levinson, fellow outcasts, causing them to form The Trio, an attempt at a supervillain group. They performed petty crimes and were a general annoyance to Buffy and her friends until Warren accidentally shot Willow’s girlfriend Tara, causing Willow to be consumed by dark magicks and seek out The Trio for revenge. Andrew and Jonathan lived to tell the tale, though Warren wasn’t so lucky, and fled to Mexico.

When The First Evil appeared to Andrew in the form of his late friend Warren, his naïve nature let him be swayed into killing Jonathan, his only remaining friend, in an attempt to open the hellmouth under Sunnydale High School. When caught by Buffy and friends, he was held hostage by them. Eventually, Andrew showed interest in helping the Scoobies in their battle against The First. He felt guilty for his actions while part of The Trio, and for murdering Jonathan. He sought redemption through battling The First and fighting on the side of good, even ready to die for his sins. He helped the potential slayers in any way he could as they arrived at the Summers household and fought alongside the potentials-turned-slayers and the Scoobies in the battle at the hellmouth, being one of lucky ones to survive and escape Sunnydale before it was completely destroyed.

After the destruction of Sunnydale, Andrew started formal training as a watcher under the leadership of Rupert Giles. He gained confidence and strength from this training, overcoming his childishness and taking his role as a watcher very seriously. He was granted command over his own slayer task force over the hellmouth in Cleveland, Andrew trained his slayers even harder and contacted Giles often for advice and guidance. In Cleveland, he helped Vi and Kennedy deal with the blow back after various Slayers in their care died under mysterious circumstances. When they were called to come and assist the Slayers in New York, Andrew willingly went to aid his friends.

Open Character: Wesley Wyndam-Pryce | Human | Watcher | Alignment: Angel Investigations/Slayer Organization | 35 years old

Wesley was born into a wealthy English family. His father was a prominent member of the Watcher's Council and Wesley always felt like a disappointment to him. As a teenager he attended an all-boys preparatory school run by the Watchers Council where he became Head Boy while training to become a Watcher. He was assigned to Sunnydale to become replacement watcher of Faith Lehane and Buffy Summers after Giles was fired by being too emotionally attached to his slayer. Wesley started out as arrogant, pompous and bossy. He did everything by the book. After he was fired by the council though, Wesley began to change. He became a rogue demon hunter and developed into a more compromising individual. He moved to Los Angeles where he eventually ran into Angel and Cordelia Chase. He joined their organization and continued to combat the forces of darkness. 

Wesley had a strained, abusive relationship with his father and over-compensated in order to please him, but was never accepted. He was also forced to watch Angel descend into darkness and was unable to help. He was tricked into kidnapping Angel's son, Connor, after being led to believe Angel would harm the boy. This damaged their relationship almost beyond repair. Wesley had to face the difficult decision of compromising his beliefs to work for the evil law firm Wolfram & Hart after it was left in Angel's control. He chose to side with Angel, believing they could use the law firm's resources to do more good than they were able to do independently. 

When Angel proposed to attack the Circle of the Black Thorn, the secret arm of the law firm's mysterious and evil Senior Partners, Wesley agreed to challenge a demon sorcerer named Cyvus Vail, who knew of Wesley's growing instability and believed him to be a wild card who could betray Angel. Vail proved too powerful for Wesley, who was overpowered and badly wounded. He survived, watching Illyria perform the task he could not. Illyria returned to Fred's visage to stay at Wesley's side so he could spend what he believed were the final minutes of his life with the woman he loved while they waited for help. Following the battle, Wesley went back to England to work with Giles and bring back the Watcher's Council that had been destroyed by agents of The First. He was a broken man, initially not capable of the responsibility, but with Giles' help Wesley managed to curb his problems with depression and alcoholism to become a watcher once more. He was transferred to the Scotland branch of the Slayer Organization to help supervise the task force there, which was under the leadership of Faith Lehane. The two worked together in Scotland for some time, specializing in rehabilitating slayers with darker pasts. When the Slayers of the Scotland branch began dying under mysterious circumstances, Wesley strived for a way to stop it from happening again. However, he was forced to relocate to New York to help Angel battle the threat to New York. There Wesley hopes to find the source behind the Slayer killings.

Open Character: Rupert Giles | Human | Watcher | Alignment: Watcher's Council/Slayer Organization | 50 years old

Rupert Giles is the head Watcher of the Watcher's Council. When he was young, it wasn't Giles' first choice to become a Watcher. Growing up, he wanted to be a fighter pilot. However, his family had been among the Watcher's Council's finest for generations and Giles really had no choice in the matter. He showed great magical potential even as a child, as his aunts were both powerful witches. This potential prompted his father to send him to the Watcher's Council early, taking what was left of Giles' childhood from him and further straining their already troubled relationship. As a teenager, Giles decided he was tired of living up to people's expectations. He left The Council, left the Oxford, and became a rogue warlock. He and a group of friends dabbled in magic that was far beyond their comprehension and it eventually backfired on them, resulting in the death of one of the members of the group. The death awakened Giles to an awareness of the path he was headed down. He saw himself ending up dead or worse if he wasn't careful. He gave up the magical arts and returned to the Watcher's Council to complete his training. 

Giles eventually became the watcher of Buffy Summers while working under-cover at her high school library. Over the years, he developed a father's love and devotion for his slayer. During his duties as a watcher, he began to use magic again on rare occasions, his maturity and station helping to control himself now. After Buffy started college, he purchased a magic shop that doubled as a base of operations for Buffy and their group of allies and friends. Giles was a crucial part of the team that activated all of the potential slayers and fought in the battle that would see the Sunnydale Hellmouth closed forever. 

After Sunnydale was destroyed, Giles set about rebuilding the Watcher's Council. Because of the hundreds of newly activated slayers, the watchers were outnumbered by their charges for the first time. He came up with a system that would divide slayers into different task forces in several countries, with each task force having one watcher. Giles took control of the main base of operations in London. Soon after, Slayers all over the world began dying mysteriously. Whilst researching, he received a call from Riley Finn. Finn was now working for a secret government organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. The organization was also dealing with the threat with their agents succumbing to the same mysterious deaths. Not only that, but New York was steadily becoming a beacon for various supernatural creatures. They wanted Giles' help. Giles negotiated with director Nick Fury to arrange a meeting between members of the organization and Buffy Summers, which resulted in an alliance between the two groups.

Spike was born William Pratt in London, England. He wrote poetry and was often criticized for the fact it was “bloody awful", earning him the nickname William the Bloody. The vampire Drusilla took a liking to him, turning him into an immortal like herself. As a vampire, William relished in his newfound power. He terrorized the people who had once mocked him and went on a tear through Europe with Drusilla, Darla and Angel for decades. Spike was rebellious, even for a vampire. He often showed a lack of respect for their customs and traditions, irritating both Angel and Darla. He was determined to make himself famous, and adopted the nickname “Spike" after developing a habit for torturing his victims with railroad spikes. By the time he made it to Sunnydale to kill Buffy Summers, he’d already killed two slayers, earning him an infamous reputation in the vampire community. When he was captured by the military organization known as The Initiative, he was ‘neutered’ when they put a chip in his head, preventing him from harming or killing anyone. Spike turned to the Scooby Gang for protection.

During his time with the Scooby Gang, Spike grew infatuated with Buffy Summers. His original passionate desire to end her life turned to sexual obsession and, eventually, to love. He discovered he could fight demons and vampires without the chip doing him harm and fought alongside the gang to replace the adrenaline rush he’d once gained from killing humans. With the help of Buffy he was able to overcome the emotional manipulation and also had his chip removed when it turned faulty. She realized his soul would be the thing that kept him from hurting people. He sacrificed his life in the Battle of Sunnydale in order to defeat the forces of evil and close the Hellmouth.

Spike came back as a ghost, appearing at the law firm Angel was in control of, Wolfram & Hart. He was bound to Los Angeles with an unstable human connection that made him fade in and out of the real world. He eventually became corporeal again but decided against going after Buffy, not wanting to ruin the way they had left things and undermine his huge gesture. He fought in The Fall of Los Angeles against the evil and mystical Senior Partners and the Circle of The Black Thorn. He was willing to die once more in the battle against evil but ended up surviving the battle. Afterwards, he maintained a loose involvement with the reformed Angel Investigations. Spike stayed underground to rid himself of all temptation he might have had to kill. It was there that he heard of the mysterious Headless Horsemen walking the streets of New York and exacting vengeance upon the Slayers and so he resurfaced, determined to help Buffy and the Scoobies combat the supernatural once again.
