For Pietro’s entire life, there had been only one constant thing: his twin sister, Wanda. As they got older, they noticed that they weren’t quite the same as the other kids in the village. Pietro noticed the whole world moved slower than he was, and it was the greatest thing. But the one person who he didn’t want to see slower than him was Wanda. He slowed down his life for her, to spend with his sister, and to protect her. After the people in the town figured out what they were, there was nothing else they could do but run. With Pietro’s powers, they could run anywhere in the world. They would be safe as long as they stayed together; he could protect her from anything…Well, most anything.  

The twins arrived in New York, hoping to make a new life for themselves in the city of dreams, however, what they stumbled upon was a city in shambles. Ridden with various supernatural creatures, the city was in utter chaos and Pietro, taking advantage of the situation, became a thief. He secured a place to live for himself and his sister and continued to live a life of crime until he, more specifically, his powers, fell on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s radar.

He was approached by the living legend, Captain America, who offered him and his sisters a place amongst the Avengers. In exchange, the Captain gave them a promise, a life without looking behind their shoulders, without hiding out or running;

Taken Character : Kayla Silverfox | Mutant | Ex-HYDRA agent | Alignment: Slayer Organization | 27 years old (physically)/undetermined

Not much is known about Kayla Silverfox’s past. She was a young mutant member of the Blackfoot Indian tribe who, in the early 1910s, fell in love with a young mutant named Logan and shared a cabin with him in a remote community in the Canadian Rockies. The two were living happily until Kayla was attacked and supposedly killed by Sabretooth prompting Logan to reinitiate himself into the Weapon X program only to soon find out that that Kayla was alive all this time and that her death was faked in a grand plan to copy Wolverine’s powers. Kayla, all this time, had been a part of William Stryker’s team, forced to follow his orders to manipulate Logan on the condition that William would let her imprisoned sister go free. Kayla tried to assure Wolverine that their feelings for each other were real as her power never worked on him but he didn’t believe her.

Kayla suffered major injuries in the final assault on the Island prison facility. Before dying, however, she touched William Stryker and commanded him to walk until his feet bled. After Wolverine regained consciousness he managed to catch a glimpse of her dead body but as he was suffering from amnesia, he couldn’t recognize her. Kayla’s body remained there in limbo. She was not truly dead, because along with possessing tactile mind control ability, the injuries triggered her long dormant regenerative factor. She lay there, slowly healing until her sister Emma, who, with the help of Charles Xavier, rescued and nursed Kayla back to health.  Fully recovered, she begged Charles to never real her identity or whereabouts to anyone, especially Logan

Though physically healed, Kayla could not escape her past or her emotional turmoil and it was then that she caught wind of HYDRA's plans for Wolverine. The terrorist organization wanted to experiment on him and mass produce soldiers of war with his abilities but before they could, Kayla offered up herself and her services instead. For years she carried out HYDRA's plans, using her powers to gain an advantage in both the military and political side until Kayla finally cracked. She had helped kill thousands of people in HYDRA's name and could not bear it anymore, so, she ran. She was found by Rupert Giles, roaming the streets of New York City, fighting off a vampire who was trying to attack a homeless man. Recognizing the overwhelming guilt in her, Giles offered her a place at Slayer Headquarters, so long as she taught the slayers and watchers all she knew about mutants and helped train the slayers, providing them with a fighting partner who cannot die. Kayla took the offer and beginning to find peace again.

Janet van Dyne was the daughter of world-renowned scientist Vernon van Dyne. Early in her life, she was a flighty, self-centered dilettante, living luxuriously on her father's fortune. When an alien brought to Earth during one of her father's experiments murdered the elder van Dyne, Janet contacted his colleague, Dr. Henry Pym and told Henry of her resolve to bring her father's killer to justice. It was then that Henry revealed his secret identity as Ant-Man, and Janet underwent a biochemical process involving his Pym Particles that allowed her to shrink to insectoid proportions and to grow wings. Furthermore, Henry outfitted her with wrist devices which allowed her to discharge blasts she called her "wasp's stings".

As The Wasp, Janet and Henry tracked down and defeated the murderous Kosmosian, banishing it to its home dimension. The two gradually fell in love and became crime-fighting partners in their costumed identities. Their numerous victories caught the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D., especially Nick Fury who personally approached them and offered them a place with the Avengers.

Taking advantage of Janet's lively personality, Director Fury placed her in-charge of maintaining the teams public appearance and approval.

Taken Character: Cordelia Chase | Part-Demon | Seer | Alignment: Angel Investigations | 24 years old

Cordelia Chase had everything in her teen years. She was the queen bee of Sunnydale High and came from a well-to-do family. However, her father's tax evasion came to light and those plans were squandered. Unable to afford college, Cordelia moved to LA to pursue an acting career. It was in LA that she ran into Angel again. Her acting career was failing to take off and so Cordelia accepted a job as his office manager, taking care of administrative business while he helped people with supernatural problems or enemies. It wasn't until their co-worker and friend Doyle died that Cordelia inherited his visions - a link to the Powers That Be.   Unbeknownst to everyone, Cordelia's transformation also set in motion a major chain of events: Having been convinced by all she had seen and heard, Cordelia accepted the call to the higher plane, ascending into the sky surrounded by twinkling lights, eventually leaving this dimension. Cordelia found she hated being a higher being and wanted nothing more than to go back to earth. She was incredibly bored and unable to do anything or change anything. When she was sent back though, Cordelia was changed. Her memories were wiped clean and her powers lay dormant. When they returned to her via a spell, the true Cordelia was lost, held captive by the powerful demon entity Jasmine who had taken control of Cordelia's mind. Jasmine used Cordelia's body to have sex with Angel's son, Connor, allowing the child born to become Jasmine in human form. While under control of Jasmine, Cordelia was forced to do horrible things. She committed murder and took Angel's soul, ensuring he would turn into Angelus and more would be killed. The only way to remove Jasmine would mean Cordelia would go into a permanent vegetative state, or die. Absent of any other choice, Cordelia performed the ritual with the help of Connor and fell into a coma. Cordelia eventually died, but not before being granted one last day with Angel in metaphysical form to tell him how much she believed in him and all the good he could accomplish, to set him on the right path. Upon her death and goodbye to Angel, Cordelia returned to the higher plane. She wasn't as bored as she had been previously, but found it difficult to watch her friends and loved ones suffer such peril. After the Senior Partners gave Lilah Morgan and Lindsey McDonald new life, using their hold over the two lawyers to help organize and manipulate the vampires, the Powers that Be decided it was time to even the playing field. They gave Cordelia new life, sending her back to help Angel and his team. They theorized that without her spirit and visions to guide him, it was likely that Angel and his team would fail and New York would fall victim to supernatural supremacy.

Like many S.H.I.E.L.D operatives, it was family that led Coulson to his position - at least partly. Coulson’s father fought in the second world war. Robert Coulson told his son stories about his time in the military, influencing his son to have a passion for justice and patriotism early on. Though his father’s stories always fascinated him, the most fascinating thing to Phil was the tale of how his father was rescued from behind enemy lines by a super soldier known as Captain America. The bright and shiny character drew in a young Phil, and he never grew out of it. He respected the man who saved his father’s life, almost worshiping him as a cult hero. As an intelligent and resourceful man, Phil worked his way up the S.H.I.E.L.D ladder diligently. Coulson was tasked with debriefing Tony Stark after his kidnapping and subsequent escape in Afghanistan. He later came to learn that Stark had developed a fully functioning Iron Man suit and developed a cover story for him – one which Tony refused to use. Coulson was also key in recovering the hammer of Thor, Mjolnir, after it was recovered in the New Mexico desert.

When rumors surfaced about Captain America possibly being recovered, Phil was eager to meet the soldier who had inspired him. He was allowed to be present while the Captain was recovering from his time in the ice, though Captain Steve Rogers was never awake while Coulson was there. When Loki took possession of the Tesseract, Steve Rogers joined with the Avengers to ensure its recovery and stop Loki’s plan to overthrow earth. Coulson met his hero for the first time. During Loki’s escape from the advanced military aircraft the group occupied, Coulson was shot and killed – supposedly. He lost consciousness after telling Nick Fury that the mission was never going to work if the group didn’t have anything to Avenge. When he awoke, he was in a quiet lab on the air craft after being operated on by S.H.I.E.L.D doctors. Fury met with Coulson, informing him they had faked his death in order to bring the Avengers group closer together and give them something to fight for.

The deed had already been done, and Coulson felt he had no option but to agree. It had worked. The Avengers group had defeated Loki and his soldiers in New York and Loki had been brought to justice. Assigned with a new identity, Coulson began working black ops missions for S.H.I.E.L.D under the radar. That was, until the supernatural began overwhelming the country and slowly, the world. Fury contacted Coulson, informing him that a deal had been struck with a group called the Slayer Organization – an underground force tasked with the destruction of evil, specifically, the supernatural. The new alliance needed all the help it could get. Coulson had to return, and in doing so, face the hero he had lied to.

Taken Character: Natasha Romanoff | Genetically-Enhanced Human | S.H.I.E.L.D Agent | Alignment: Avengers Initiative | 28 years old

Natasha was born in Volgograd, Russia and trained from an early age as a Soviet agent and spy. Her parents were killed in a fire when Natasha was young. Following that, Natasha was taken in by the U.S.S.R Black Widow Ops program with other young female orphans, where she was brainwashed and trained in combat and espionage at the covert "Red Room" facility. 

Natasha eventually learned that the Black Widow Ops program had been brain washing her and implanting her with false memories. After a particularly harsh encounter with her handler, she turned on them and instead made her way as a mercenary, using the skills they had taught her to serve the highest bidder. Eventually, S.H.I.E.L.D sent agent Clint Barton to track her down and kill her. Barton came close to carrying out the assassination but instead, made a different call. He believed she could be a useful S.H.I.E.L.D agent. He took her back with him and assisted in her rehabilitation. The two worked together for many years before Natasha was assigned to spy on Tony Stark prior to his potential recruitment to the Avengers Initiative. 

After the battle of Manhattan, Natasha resumed her work as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent. When the supernatural beings began to attack New York, Natasha was incredibly skeptical. She did not believe in vampires or any other supernatural beings. She was quickly forced to accept that the threat was real and assisted in recalling the Avengers to action in order to take on the monsters. When a woman named Buffy Summers came to New York to meet with Nick Fury about the "Slayer Organization," Natasha was asked to be present. Though many of the young woman's claims seemed outlandish and ridiculous, Natasha concluded that she was telling the truth. Natasha debriefed Buffy Summers, taking record of any useful information the slayer had.

Angel was one of the most famous vampires in history. During his human life in Ireland, Liam was a drunk a waste, and was a disappointment to his father. Darla, who had an intense attraction to him, sired him. The two committed sadistic and artful acts of violence together and Liam became Angelus, The Scourge of Europe. In 1898 however, Angelus chose the wrong person to kidnap and torture. He took a young gypsy girl as a gift to his beloved Darla and the two drank her dry. In revenge for the act, the girl’s family cursed Angelus with a soul. He would know human pain and live with the torment of his sins and if he ever knew true happiness, his soul would be ripped from him once more. He attempted to resume his life with Darla as normal, but he was condemned to feel too deeply and could only bring himself to harm animals, rapists and murders. Darla, disgusted with him, abandoned him.

For almost a century, he lived in torment. He lived in the darkness, feeding off rats and sometimes slipping, taking human blood only to later hate himself for it. He found purpose, helping the slayer Buffy Summers. In spite of himself, Angel fell in love with her.He moved to Los Angeles and began his own private detective agency, specializing in the supernatural. During a difficult period, Angel found himself seeking physical comfort with Darla in an attempt to lose his soul and become Angelus once more. Failing to reach perfect happiness, he held onto his humanity, realizing his purpose was still to do good. The two defied logic and physics when she fell pregnant. Darla left after the boy, Connor, was born. All seemed well until one of Angel’s old enemies, Holtz, kidnapped Connor and raised him in the hell dimension Quor’toth under the belief Holtz was his father. He was raised to hate and kill Angel. When Connor returned to Angel’s dimension, he was sixteen although only days had passed in Angel’s reality.

After the two fought, made up, and fought once more, Angel made a deal with the evil law firm Wolfram & Hart. Connor would be given a new life, new memories, a human upbringing and nobody but Angel would remember that he was Angel’s son. In exchange, Angel would run the Los Angeles division of Wolfram & Hart. Together with his comrades, Angel prepared to destroy the Circle of the Black Thorn, a battle that none of them expected to survive. Though some of them were severely wounded in the battle, the team made it through. Leaving the defunct Los Angeles law firm, Angel recreated Angel Investigations. During the events leading up to the battle, Connor had figured out his identity, although the memories of his life in the hell dimension and his hatred of his father were gone. The two were able to mend their relationship and operate together fairly normally. When Angel heard of the supernatural threat looming over New York, he tasked himself with finding out how to stop them. It was during this time that Angel received a phone call from Rupert Giles, informing him about an alliance the Slayer Organization had struck with The Avengers Initiative, and invited him to be an ally once more.

Clint Barton, code name Hawkeye was one of the agents assigned to protecting the discovery of Mjolnir, acting as a soldier and security officer. He encountered Thor at that time when the Thunder God broke into the S.H.I.E.L.D facility to reclaim his hammer, but Clint was never given the order to shoot. Prior to joining S.H.I.E.L.D, he was a thief working at Carson's Carnival. After getting caught, Clint was approached by Phil Coulson who offered him a choice; Jail, or S.H.I.E.L.D. Clint joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and never looked back.

One of the targets he was sent to hunt down was Natasha Romanoff, a Russian spy who became a mercenary for hire, using her vicious skill set at the wish of the highest bidder. Though he normally carried out his orders without hesitation, when Clint found and fought Natasha, he was unable to finish the job. He saw something good and useful in her and instead took her back to S.H.I.E.L.D where she was eventually brought on as part of the team. The two carried out missions together for years before Natasha was sent to spy on Tony Stark as his assistant. One of his later missions involved guarding the scientist, Erik Selvig, and the valuable tesseract housed in a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. base. It was there that he first encountered Loki Laufeyson who, using a form of mind control, was able to use Clint and force him to fight against the Avengers. It was Natasha who saved him, knocking him unconscious and resetting him cognitively.

After the battle of Manhattan, Clint was suspended from active duty, pending a physical and mental examination which he refused and retreated to a safe house in Alaska, away from S.H.I.E.L.D.
