I did some pre spring cleaning for some future brewing adventures. I’m gonna make that #hazyipa thing soon. This is just one step of the brewing process. I also did a yeast starter, then will do a water analysis and adjustment. I also milled #hella grains today. Once the beer is made, I get to wait 2-4 weeks to see if I made something great or not. Oh, I also want to buy two barrels for souring beers and stouts. My fiancé is gonna love how I’m getting more #brewing stuff. It’s official; I’m hoping to submit two beers in the National Homebrew Competition. This will be a sacrifice of time and money on my part, with the odds stacked against me to win it. I’m shooting for gold but will happily embrace failure if it comes my way as a lesson. Regardless, I took the first step. As a #homebrewer for almost a decade, I guess it’s time to test my skills and put my money where my mouth is. I’m thinking of submitting a Kettle sour #ipa and either a regular ne ipa, #brettsour OR a #kolsch / lawnmower ale. I just dry hopped 9.5 gallons of my first Kettle Sour IPA. It is featuring calypso, Apollo, centennial and homegrown cascade #hops. It’s 3.8 ph which isn’t too sour. It will be ready soon! #dryhop #homebrew #craftbeer #kettlesour #homegrown #brewing #bminusbrewing
