— BLINKIE SET #7 . . . COMMON & GENERAL BODYMODS !
If I don't lose weight, then I hate how I look. If I do, then I'm "conforming to the pressure of society."
If I can't, then it's totally okay to be fat, regardless of whether or not that statement is even relevant to the conversation of what I want to be, and if I can't on my own and then use some medicine, then some pretentious pseudointellectual college grad writes a think-piece on how I'm a fucking tragedy for using the tools at my disposal to look how I want to look, pretending that painting me as a victim isn't the same as shaming me.
Body modding in all its forms is in and of itself a human right, being encompassed by bodily autonomy. TREAT IT AS ONE, YOU FUCKS!
I came across this comic (Thank you @eclispe02 for making it show up on my dash) and my first reaction was "Hell yeah, those prosthetics are so cool. I want that" to then realize that being an amputee is not fun and why would I want that. My conclusion to that question you can find spilled out below.
Why do I want cool prosthetics? Like yes, cool thing, but wanting a prosthetic in the first place while not needing it is kinda weird. I had perfectly okay legs and arms for most of my life but this always been an itch. So seeing this coming made me think about it again. And I might have come to an answer to satisfy myself for now. I suspect it is a combination of having a body that has been modified quite a good amount and being trans. Being Trans is the easy impact to explain. Being trans without knowing it does not free you from the body dysphoria. You might look for other reasons but most still wanna change their body even if the don't know that they are trans. But why not go into tattooing or cosplay? Those don't need you to take of body parts.
There we come to my own body. I have had..... multiple invasive surgery. Spine surgery (scoliosis, yay), a small amputation and some other stuff. So as far as I remember I never had a "natural" body. But all of these surgery's have mostly only left scares. Or their results are semi permanent covered by clothes. Their never really has been an opportunity to make it into a cool / personal thing. They have been relegated to "I guess that is also a thing that happened" and the occasional reminder that it is a thing and makes your live complicated. So seeing these kind of comics and other types of media, where the injury is turned into a really cool positive personal thing, sometimes gives the feeling of missing those opportunity with my own "modifications". Probably also impacted that you get used to your own stuff so it becomes normal. Anyway, I am still really happy I have both legs but sometimes there are those longings.
Body modding for the purpose of sex is so hot. Getting nipple and genital piercings? I love you. Tattoos marking that you’re a slut? Goddamn I love you. Surgery to fuck better? Just fucking take me already
imma be honest with yall just about every form of body piercing/modification grosses me the fuck out like I can handle certain levels of tattoos but when I see... for example tongue or nipple piercings or those huge circular things guys like putting in their ears nowadays just instant boner killer for me. nope. gone. I mean you might as well have just shown me a picture of Chica from FNAF in a bikini. I’m out.
