I am making my way through all the non-multichaptered KuroKen fics you have on ao3 and just dyingggg/crying!!!! How do you write them so well?!! No, this is a serious question lol.. how are you able to grasp these characters so well (perhaps from reading the mangas???)

yes, I do read the manga! and i’ve seen the anime more than once, and I practically live on the Haikyuu!! wikia page, ahaha and after that . . . i just go with whatever i think feels right for the characters? it’s difficult for me to write in the POV of characters I don’t relate to that well, which is why I don’t write kagehina or asanoya (even tho i ship them) or anything from tanaka’s pov, ahaha. I just can’t hear their voices in my head? i can’t look at a situation or a scenario and be like “ah yes this is what they would do/say” with any kind of certainty ;;;

but i really relate to kuro and kenma and i can hear their voices really well in my head, and so i have a lot of confidence in how i think they would approach different situations and scenarios :’) and a lot of that does come from reading the manga and watching the show, but i think a lot more of that just comes from loving the characters so much that i feel and hear them, if that makes sense??

tbh i envy people who can feel and hear kagehina because i would love to write for them more aksjdhfhkjh
