The result of my 'Mammillaria compressa' hybridization experiment. I crossed two varieties with each other: The long thorn variety with 4 spines on one areole and the short thorn variety with 5 spines on one areole.

It's too early to see exactly what the results are, but I got viable seeds that germinated and so far it's good enough for me.

From this batch of seedlings, I will select the Mammillarias with the most spine growth and cross them with my batch of 'Mammillaria bombycina' seedlings of which the same experiment has been done. The results will (hopefully) be cacti that display a large amount of spines that curl outwards (characteristic from the Mammillaria bombycina).
