Celebrating the past and shaping the future with the Fountain of Giving
Once a Bondy, always a Bondy. Far beyond graduation, Bond University alumni are part of a lifelong community, and the Fountain of Giving was established to commemorate and celebrate those special connections. Through purchasing a plaque, you can cement your place in the University’s history and support the next generation of leaders.
Established in 2005, the Garden of Learning was created as a fundraising project that allowed Bond’s students, alumni, staff and community members to purchase a piece of campus.
The initiative was immediately embraced by the University community, including Bond University Student Council (now BUSA), the University Council, prominent alumni, and generous community members.
The Garden of Learning: 2005-2014
In 2014, the Garden of Learning became the Fountain of Giving, and was relocated to a purpose-built fountain in the Alumni Court (part of the ADCO Amphitheatre). Â
Today, Bond University’s students, alumni, staff and community members are all encouraged to purchase a plaque for the Fountain of Giving to cement their connection with the University, as well as commemorate their time at Bond.
Corporations, non-profit organisations, sporting clubs and special interest groups are also able to show their support, through contributing to the endeavours of future leaders.
One hundred per cent of funds raised from the Fountain of Giving are donated to Bond University’s Ambition Fund, which supports new campus facilities, advances key research projects, and builds on Bond’s unparalleled student experience by funding the Student Opportunity Fund, Elite Athlete Fund, Transformer Fund, and Alumni Scholarships.

Because of this, leaving university with global experience is incredibly valuable, and something that many university students don’t have the opportunity to gain. But at Bond, we want to make sure you leave university ready to go wherever the world calls you. Take a peek at what some of our students from different programs have been doing all across the world.
A career among the stars: Communication alumna living the dream
For Candice, her degree in Communication helped her land her dream job. Where could a degree in Communication and Digital Media take YOU?
If you had asked Candice where she’d be in five years’ time, “rubbing shoulders with film star Owen Wilson” would probably not have been her response. But here she is, literally shoulder-to-shoulder with Owen in a recent interview for Saturday Disney at the Night At The Museum 3 movie launch.

Her brush with celebrities doesn’t stop there! Her job has taken her from London to Tokyo and around Australia interviewing celebrities; Oscar winner Russell Crowe, Ben Stiller, Rebel Wilson, and the Home and Away cast - just to name a few.
In 2009, Candice hit the ground running soon after graduating from a Bachelor of Communication majoring in Journalism at Bond University with a job offer from Saturday Disney as a presenter.
Landing her dream job early on in her career, she credits the practical experience she received while studying at Bond and her hard work.
“My lecturers helped me line up internships with Channel 9 Gold Coast News and 102.9 Hot Tomato. I also worked on various television and movie sets as an extra while I was studying.
“I think it’s important to start early and work hard.”
In addition to her incredible experience travelling all over the world presenting and producing entertainment and lifestyle segments with Saturday Disney, Candice has also been enlisted as a guest reporter on other Seven shows, including The Daily Edition, The Morning Show and Sydney Weekender. She has also presented entertainment segments for Seven Sport during the Autumn Racing Carnival and Magic Millions.
This charismatic Bondy is living her dream!
