The Great Red Dragon from Bone (comics)
Yes
No

The Great Red Dragon is a guardian of the Valley who also serves as a guardian to Fone Bone. He's wise and has a slight trickster personality, and tends to show up unexpectedly, and while he has been helpful at times, he's not really a dragon of action.

There is no nuance button, if your answer is some variation of ‘I would if X’ then the answer is yes.
If I had a nickel for every time I got attached to a baby rat tag-along, I would have 2 nickels
Anyways they're making friends <3
Them Funny BONE Cousins (Phoney, Fone, and Smiley) by Mast3r-Rainb0w
If you remember these guys from a certain classic graphic novel series, you deserve a reward! Thought I'd draw the 3 main cousins from Jeff Smith's comedic fantasy comic, Bone. Enjoy the fanart!

Bone #1: Out from Boneville by Jeff Smith
now tell me tumblr. what y'all know about HER
on the ever-growing list of women i fell in love with while reading graphic novels (biggggggg indicator for baby gay me that there was indeed something going on), thorn harvestar was one of the first
there's this one panel i remember in my head where she looks hot as FRICK but i can't find it online. "that's because i wasn't LOOKING!!!!" with *SPOILERS*-
So, I do really love Bone, but I so desperately wish we got a much closer look at what happens with Lucius/Rose/Briar (it was described as a romp, but I would like to see more of who Briar was before the Locust. She was obviously a deceitful and manipulative woman, having lied about her blind Dreaming Eye, but still. Why?). There's some elaboration in Rose, the book, I believe, but I'm not sure how much. I wish we got to learn more about the ancient Rat Creatures and the temples they built, it felt a little sad to me to see them and not learn anything, because the statues were obviously rat creature iconography! They have their own language that I believe is just consistent across the mountain ranges they inhabit, because the Pawaians speak it as well. But there's obviously some sort of Rat Creature society and culture, we know this because they have ear and tail cropping rituals, and they tell each other fables about Jekk, to convince the cubs to do it. I want to know more about them. They're so interesting. What was Kingdok like before the Locust? He's described as a fair and kind ruler, until he went mad from the Locust, just like Mim, and by the end he's almost brainless, with no thoughts but to kill Thorn and Fone.
There's just a lot of lore I feel we missed out on. And because the story is told from an Aethian perspective, we really only understand their true motivations.
I also really wish we got more explanation about the Dreaming and *what* makes characters like Merme and Thorn so powerful. The feats they perform aren't as powerful without something weaker to compare them to. And we don't often see low level dreamers, other than Fone, who never really accessed his abilities. I think the Dreaming is really fascinating but I Need To Know More
And why does Rose choose to beat the hell out of everyone instead of using her Dreaming abilities? She's powerful enough to get the "gitchy feeling", which Thorn can't feel until right before she fuckin FLIES OVER A MOUNTAIN RANGE. This implies Rose could do these things, what is limiting her? It can't be age, Merme goes crazy during the Siege on Aethia. Does she just LIKE hitting people? It would check out LMFAO
Also, if everyone has a Dreaming Eye, why does literally nobody in the Valley other than Rose, who is from Aethia, ever use or even hint at the abilities? It doesn't seem to be something exclusive to royalty, since Fone Bone obviously has one. The Rat Creatures call it the Hum-Hum. Maybe this gets elaborated on in Quest for the Spark, but MAN.
