The universe just turned up out of nowhere and is sending me signs. Literally!
My partner and I were running a few errands today, getting haircut, buying shoes, when we were waiting for the bus is when it happened.
I looked up and saw a very beautiful man who looked very familiar. We lock eyes. He takes his earbuds out and asks if I was just at Rudy’s Barber shop, up on Capitol Hill (we live in Seattle, WA), which I was. Then, I remember, that I sat right next to this guy; who was getting his hair cut too. Not weird at all, a typical, hey we were just in the same place and have bumped into each other again, kind of situation. He puts his earbuds back in. A few moments pass and we lock eyes again. He takes the earbuds back out and approaches us. He pulls out a small box and says, “I was supposed to meet up with someone to give these to, but they didn’t show, and I feel like I need to give them to you.” We look down and he has handed us a box of Tarot cards. We thank him as he puts back in his earbuds, gives us a nod and goes back to where he was waiting for the bus.
His bus comes. A head nod and a “it’s a very nice set” from our new friend before he boards the bus and is zooming along the busy street.
We get on the bus and open the box. It’s a beautiful set of cards with a thorough book explaining everything you’d need to know.
As if it can’t get any weirder I remember a myth (and googled it to make sure) that you’re not supposed to buy your own Tarot Cards. They need to be bought for you, given to you, or stolen or they won’t work.
At last, the cherry on top falls hard. He had left the receipt in the back of the box and it’s dated, 08/24/2017. Almost exactly a year from today. But more importantly, it’s my dad’s birthday and he just passed away last month.
Okay, Universe. I hear you.
