Etymology: from Magadhi Prakrit 𑀪𑀢𑁆𑀢 (bhatta), from Sanskrit ভক্ত (bhakta), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *bʰaktás (“distributed, allotted, share, portion”), from Proto-Indo-European *bʰeh₂g- (“to divide, distribute”).

Probably in the sense that the food was divided and served?

Etymology: Inherited from Prakrit 𑀡𑀘𑁆𑀘 (ṇacca), from Sanskrit नृत्य (nṛtya). Cognate with Punjabi ਨਾਚ (nāc) / ناچ‎ (nāc), Gujarati નાચ (nāc), Sindhi ناچُ‎ / नाचु (nācu), Oriya ନାଚ (nacô), Assamese নাচ (nas) and Hindi नाच (nāc).
