Brianna finally reading the letter, and understanding Jamie more makes me happy and grateful. hearing Jamie’s voiceover reading the letter was really good. wish we had seen more of Jamie and Claire, even if it had been 30 seconds at the end
thankfully John is there to be a friend and support Brianna during this time
Fergus and Marsali are quite the team! I love it. I was afraid one of them would die, but thankfully they both lived
Brianna confronting Bonnett was a powerful scene; she was able to tell him everything she needed to say. it seemed like the writers were trying to make him have a little bit of remorse; which I mean, I don’t know how I feel about that.
anyway, it gave me anxiety seeing Brianna be in the prison while Fergus and co. were trying to break Murtagh out, because I worried that Bonnett would escape in the explosion (which he kind of did) or that Bree would be hurt
I will say though, it was a cool moment seeing John and Fergus and Brianna and Murtagh all collide in the hallway. it was quick, but it was still nice to have that moment
also, Fergus doesn’t know who Brianna is yet, so I want him to find out
thank you, John, for not betraying Murtagh.
Roger’s whole speech about his journey and his pain trying to find Brianna, and how at this point, he’s given up, was very well acted. (and he regrets his part in how he and Bree left things; which yes, character development).
I’m sorry for him and how he has come to a point of believing it wasn’t worth it.
he doesn’t even know why Jamie beat him.
I wish there were more episodes this season, but I am looking forward to the finale and seeing some reunions (Bree x Roger, and Jamie and Ian properly meeting Roger)
finally, that preacher’s story was really tragic. as a believer myself, it broke my heart to see him believe he is damned and that he can’t be forgiven. I wish he could’ve believed again and been forgiven and even forgiven himself. but he chose to do what he thought was right, even if it meant dying. unfortunately, it ended up causing his love to kill herself too.
there have been some powerful, poignant episodes this season. it was bringing Roger and Bree into a more prominent storyline than before. and I know there was some missteps with that; but lets not let it take away from what’s been good with this season
