Fandom Problem #13,700:
Persepolis should be required reading, because I keep seeing idiotic comments on posts about it claiming it's "Anti-Iranian propaganda" from people who claim to be progressive activists
Persepolis is the graphic novel autobiography of an Iranian refugee who tried to fight for her freedom through various acts of rebellion, while also trying to survive when moral police wanted to arrest people for things like wearing Nike shoes. She also highlighted how she was discriminated against in Europe for her nationality. She then had to fight against her book being censored in schools for depictions of the violence her family went through.
I think she knows more about fighting for your rights than some keyboard warriors who call her literal life "propaganda" for portraying the negatives of Iran.
