It’s possible to go on, no matter how impossible it seems, and that in time, the grief … lessens. It may not go away completely, but after a while, it’s not so overwhelming.

I stepped near the window and looked at how it snowed more heavily outside. I felt it when he came near me. “It’s so beautiful,” I said looking at the snow outside. He put his hands on my waist from behind and whispered in my ear, “You are beautiful.” I felt his lips on my neck...

Maybe our world will grow kinder eventually.
Maybe the desire to make something beautiful is the piece of God that is inside each of us.

Memorial Day and a Friday Read
Memorial Day and a Friday Read
Once again, Memorial Day Weekend sort of crept up on me while I wasn’t looking. In recent years, the holiday hasn’t meant to me what it used to. When I was a kid, Memorial Day was a big deal. It would be met with a parade, then picnics at a park – or perhaps a cook-out at home. Regardless of how the day was celebrated, it was always on May 30, whatever day of the week that date happened to be…

The current pandemic has been pretty much devastating. From having the perfect all year plans down to stay at home all-day all-night arrangement, real quick! This is probably the most unexpected plot twist at the beginning of a new decade.
However, I think being on a lock down was both a blessing and a curse for some. We all got the chance to take a step back and get plenty of time we weren’t able to have before covid-19. And I can pretty much relate to this because even though I’m still working from home, I got to maximize my day even better and one of the things I immediately did was to read the pile of books that were already dusty in my shelf.
One those books was Michelle Adam’s entitled “Love & Care for the One and Only You”. I’m so glad I came across and bought this book a month before the lock down for unexpectedly - it has given me directions on what to do or rather make the most out of the home quarantine. I was moved by this book so much! And though I’m not a pro at making book reviews, I just simply want to share the lessons and realizations I picked up from this book and hopefully, these things will also make impacts on you :)
Here goes the list of my “notes” upon reading the book: 1. “As long as we make small changes on a consistent basis, we’ll get there.”
2. If you constantly feel bad about yourself, pray to God for courage to look past your insecurities and look for your positive sides instead. Ask for guidance to focus on your goals without having to worry about what others think about you.
3. Don’t let jealousy get in your way. Remember that the goal is to be a BETTER YOU and not to be better than someone else.
4. It’s time we overcome our lack of self confidence and love ourselves for who we are. Our self worth shouldn’t be determined by the number of likes we get on social media because all we need is to focus on our assets. Social media is an illusion and we need to change our world.
5. Fight temptations - the unnecessary needs. Keep them away ‘cause if they’re out of your SIGHT, they’d likely be out of your MIND.
6. Do something today that your future self will thank you.
7. Stop being a whiner every time God wants you to step out of your comfort zone to level up. “Don’t resist change, just go with it.”
8. Jot down the things you are grateful for everyday. Read them when you’re having a bad day for it will remind you of how blessed you are.
9. Each time you fall, don’t wait for the perfect moment to stand up again for that would never happen. Just start again right at that moment.
10. You need to start asking for God’s intervention in every area of your life. You can’t accomplish anything by doing them on your own. Ask for guidance in every aspect of your life. -- There are actually a lot more about this book. What I loved the most here was the realization that our need and motivation for self improvement shouldn’t be about wanting to be better than someone else, or because we want to be ahead of the others. Instead, we should pursue the best version of ourselves so we’d be able to do our calling and fulfill His plans for us with confidence and perseverance.
"... stuck in the smallest home ever with thoughts I should'nt be left alone with..." . . I hope you're fine within your home :> if not... . . These are trying times and we're left with nothing but to stay home. If you're not picking that book from your shelf, it's okay. Not everyone is supposed to do things like 'everyone'. It's okay if you're not feeling well emotionally and mentally. Uhm, can I say that "this too shall pass and you're going to be okay soon?" #adamsilvera #morehappythannot #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booksofinstagram #bookstagramphilippines #bookstagramph #filipinobookstagrammer #readersofinstagram #books #booksofig #bookcollection #bookreader #bookquotes #booklover #bookpages #bookish #bookexcerpt #reader #reads #readme #reading #bookrecommendation #bibliophile #bookworm #bookphotography #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters https://www.instagram.com/p/CAz_FPNn8IR/?igshid=8v1dxs6wd46p
