Something I’ve been thinking about lately is Livvy’s POVs post-QOAAD. Not necessarily anything content wise but just… the fact they exist & are fairly notable, and what implications that might have for her character. I don’t know if this is technically true or not, but it feels like we get more into her head as a ghost than before her death & idk it’s just interesting.
I’ve talked before about a certain tendency within the fandom to write off Livvy & her character, like there’s nothing more to her now than passing on in service of Ty’s arc, and it just feels so divorced from how CC is actually writing Livvy. Like it def doesn’t help she’s avoiding mentioning Livvy when it comes to questions about TLKOF, like from memory she doesn’t mention Livvy when talking about POVs. But we got the teaser of the first chapters & Livvy already has a POV again so like… obviously she withholding information on purpose lol (& she’s doing the same thing with Jaime).
and there’s a few possible reasons for Livvy’s POVs & I don’t think they guarantee Livvy’s survival or anything. Like it could be motivated from avoiding Ty’s POV & whatever that will reveal, and once Kit is reunited with them all the POVs will default back to him. But I’m not sure that’s a convincing argument when you think about how nine out of ten GOTSM are duel POV (Jem & someone else) & the single exception is The Lost World where Livvy is solo — that has to be a deliberate choice. Especially when you think about how (per a brief glance at the wiki) the only Jesse POV we get is in CHOT, after he’s brought back. Like obviously there’s something important about Livvy’s POV specifically and I don’t think that suggests a character whose story is totally over.
