There are three things I need in a book to make me obsess over it for years on end:
1. Pretentious, self-destructive characters
2. Homoerotic subtext that isn't really subtext
3. Murder

I think today is finally the day i read The Outsiders

"We were always surrounded by books and words and poetry, all the fierce passions of the world bound in leather and vellum." M.L.Rio
Had a productive day at the library today and feeling uncharacteristically good about myself at the moment.
Books I'm currently reading what are you’ll currently reading
"I can bear scorpion’s stings, tread fields of fire, in frozen gulfs of cold eternal lie, be tossed aloft through tracts of endless void, but cannot live in shame."
On this day in literary history, Scottish playwright and poet, Joanna Baillie, was born in Bothwell, Scotland in 1762. Baillie is best known for her theatrical sequence Plays on the Passions,a series of astute female-led comedies and tragedies dedicated to “unveiling the human mind under the dominion of those strong and fixed passions”. She set the tone for what would come to be known as English Romanticism and was once compared to Shakespeare.
Ok, i forgot to update while I was reading The Outsiders but I finished it already and I loved it so much, i wasn’t expecting to get THAT attached to the characters in such short time but I was literally so protective of all of them and I love them so much. Also so much stuff happened and I was like “WAIT WHAT STOP I’m still trying to get over that other thing that just broke me”. As I said, I loved it, I gave it 5 stars and I’m planning on watching the movie after I’m done with my midterms
“Safe had become Victor” I’m 🥺🥺🥰🥰🥰
